Design Engineer

About the Role

Trust Wallet is looking for a Design Engineer to sit at the intersection of design and engineering — someone who can move fluidly between Figma and code to build and ship polished, high-quality UI directly in our React Native app. You'll close the gap between design intent and shipped product, working hands-on with both the design and engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Build production-quality UI components and interactions directly in React Native, translating designs into pixel-accurate, performant code

• Partner with product designers to prototype ideas quickly, test interactions, and iterate before full engineering handoff

• Own and maintain the design system/component library, ensuring consistency and reusability across the app

• Bridge design and engineering — flag feasibility issues early, propose technical solutions to design problems, and vice versa

• Improve UI performance, animations, and micro-interactions across web, mobile, and browser extension

• Collaborate with engineering on architecture decisions that affect UI flexibility, theming, and component scalability

• Help define and evolve design-to-dev workflows/tooling (Figma → code handoff, design tokens, etc.)

Requirements

• 3-5+ years of experience in frontend/UI engineering, with strong hands-on React Native experience

• Strong eye for design craft — typography, spacing, motion, and interaction detail

• Comfortable working directly in Figma (or similar) to prototype and iterate on UI

• Experience building and maintaining component/design systems

• Track record of shipping polished, consumer-facing mobile products

• Strong communication skills — able to work fluidly across design and engineering teams and translate between the two

• Genuine interest in Web3/crypto products a plus

Nice to Have

• Experience with design tokens, theming systems, or cross-platform component libraries

• Background as either a designer who learned to code or an engineer with strong design sensibility

• Familiarity with animation libraries (Reanimated, Lottie, etc.) in React Native

• Prior experience in fintech, crypto, or high-growth consumer apps
