NPR, a mission-driven multimedia organization, seeks a Brand Designer (Video) to create compelling visual stories that embody the NPR brand. This role involves developing, producing, and editing video assets, including original content for communications, fundraising, executive communications, recruitment, employee engagement, events, and strategic initiatives.

Core Responsibilities

The ideal candidate is an experienced producer with 3-5 years of professional video production experience, strong creative instincts, and a passion for authentic storytelling. Responsibilities include:

  • Developing original video concepts that communicate NPR’s mission, impact, and institutional priorities.
  • Producing videos for fundraising, executive communications, recruitment, internal communications, events, and member station engagement.
  • Leading every stage of production, from concept and scripting to directing shoots, capturing high-quality video/audio, and editing final pieces.
  • Managing graphics, captions, music licensing, and post-production elements.
  • Elevating the NPR brand through consistent visual storytelling that aligns with NPR’s values and creative standards.
  • Managing production operations, including scheduling, logistics, freelancers, and equipment maintenance.

Key Technical Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and other professional editing software.
  • Experience with lighting, audio recording, camera operation, and field production.
  • Familiarity with motion graphics, animation, photography, or drone production is a plus.

Soft Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong storytelling, interviewing, and project management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a collaborative environment.
  • Curiosity, empathy, and creativity balanced with editorial judgment.
  • Adaptability, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality.
  • Willingness to learn new tools and technologies.

Education & Experience

  • Minimum: 3-5 years of professional video production experience.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing documentary, institutional, or mission-driven storytelling.
  • Equivalent hands-on experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree.
