About Standard Bots:

Standard Bot’s mission is to significantly lower the barrier to entry to real-world automation, bringing the power of bits to the world of atoms and unlocking productivity for entire new industries and users. Our user-facing applications and APIs unlock the power of automation for entire new use cases. A relentless focus on simplicity and ease of use brings the revolutionary potential of robotic automation to new users and industries. The Applications Engineering team drives forward the company’s mission by designing solutions around, installing, and supporting Standard Bot’s innovative 6-axis robot.

Note: This role requires up to 50% domestic travel. As the team grows, this percentage will decrease, but currently, fieldwork is a significant part of the role. If travel is not suitable for you, this may not be the right fit.

Important Clarification: This role is not focused on training models or pushing code. Instead, it is a mechanical + electrical + software trifecta that leverages AI as a tool. The factory floor is your office.

Visa Sponsorship: Standard Bots is unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role.

About the Role:

We are seeking experienced and skilled customer-facing problem-solvers to help architect the future of robotics through the design, installation, and support of innovative robotic solutions. As an Applications Engineer, you will collaborate with engineers, organizational leaders, sales, and customers to design, install, and support solutions for our customers in novel robotic applications.

What You’ll Do:

  • Partner with sales and customers to design robotic solutions for novel applications, serving as a trusted technical resource throughout the sales cycle.
  • Own installations end-to-end, traveling to customer sites to install, program, and validate Standard Bots solutions in the field.
  • Create technical enablement materials, including sample code, application notes, and white papers, to help customers maximize the use of our platform.
  • Collaborate with in-house engineering to test and refine new features and integrations as our product expands.
  • Contribute to marketing efforts by developing collateral that communicates the value of Standard Bots solutions to prospective customers.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Technical Depth: Hands-on experience across electrical, software, and mechanical systems. Comfortable with DC power, understanding of NPN vs. PNP, ability to write Python scripts, and experience navigating CAD tools like SolidWorks.
  • Industry Fluency: Experience in automotive, manufacturing, or industrial automation environments. Understanding of constraints, workflows, and stakeholders involved in deploying technology on a factory floor.
  • Operational Context: Experience working alongside or within production or assembly environments. Ability to speak credibly to customers about cycle times, uptime requirements, safety standards, and integration with existing equipment.
  • Growth Mindset: Energized by new domains and challenges, with the ability to quickly pick up context and maximize impact.
  • Clear Communication: Ability to communicate with precision and empathy, both in writing and in person, across technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Bias for Impact: Prioritizes user outcomes over technical elegance and executes with urgency.
  • Proactive Simplicity: Defaults to simple, reliable solutions and proactively flags opportunities for improvement.
  • Thrives in Ambiguity: Performs best in fast-moving, high-expectation environments alongside a diverse team.

Standard Bots is a premier, enterprise-grade robotics and physical AI technology powerhouse engineered to orchestrate massive-scale automated manufacturing workflows and intelligent, continuous physical process-execution pipelines. Operating as a trailblazer in accessible, AI-powered industrial automation, the company eliminates the operational friction of traditional manufacturing robotics—which frequently suffer from exorbitant programming costs, rigid hard-coded trajectories, and weeks of setup downtime—by seamlessly deploying vision-guided robotic arms, generative spatial intelligence, and intuitive touch-interface teach telemetry. Moving beyond heavy, legacy industrial robots that require specialized systems integrators, Standard Bots empowers modern machine shops, automotive suppliers, and manufacturing enterprises to dynamically execute complex physical tasks like machine tending, CNC loading, welding, and quality inspection with elite, scalable, and audit-ready precision. Under the hood, its sophisticated proprietary operational infrastructure—bolstered by advanced neural net trajectory planning, real-time computer vision feedback loops, and human-collaborative safety architectures—natively manages multi-axis joint kinematics, continuous adaptive learning, and hardware-level execution workflows, providing the necessary foundation for high-velocity physical operations. What sets Standard Bots apart is its uncompromising dedication to frictionless "physical-orchestration"; by bridging the gap between sophisticated artificial intelligence and floor-ready industrial hardware, the firm enables manufacturing organizations to radically accelerate production throughput, eliminate costly labor-capacity bottlenecks, and build an unassailable foundation for continuous physical output in the AI-driven manufacturing ecosystem.
