Key Skills Required
Master these to land this role
Want to know if you're a match for this job?
We’re looking for seasoned and skilled customer facing problem-solvers to help architect the future of robotics through the design, installation and support of innovative new robotic solutions. As an Applications Engineer you will work with other engineers, organizational leaders, sales and customers to design, install and support solutions for our customers in new and exciting robotic applications.
What You’ll Do:
Partner with sales and customers to design robotic solutions for novel applications, serving as a trusted technical resource throughout the sales cycle
Own installations end-to-end — traveling to customer sites to install, program, and validate Standard Bots solutions in the field
Create technical enablement materials including sample code, application notes, and white papers that help customers get the most out of our platform
Collaborate with in-house engineering to test and refine new features and integrations as our product expands
Contribute to marketing efforts by developing collateral that communicates the value of Standard Bots solutions to prospective customers
What you'll bring:
Technical Depth: You have hands-on experience across electrical, software, and mechanical systems — you're comfortable with DC power, understand NPN vs. PNP, can write Python scripts, and can navigate CAD tools like SolidWorks
Industry Fluency: You have hands-on experience in automotive, manufacturing, or industrial automation environments — you understand the constraints, workflows, and stakeholders that come with deploying technology on a factory floor
Operational Context: You've worked alongside or within production or assembly environments and can speak credibly to customers about cycle times, uptime requirements, safety standards, and integration with existing equipment
Growth Mindset: You're energized by new domains and challenges, and you pick up context quickly to maximize your impact
Clear Communication: You communicate with precision and empathy — in writing, in person, and across technical and non-technical audiences
Bias for Impact: You prioritize user outcomes over technical elegance, and you execute with urgency
Proactive Simplicity: You default to simple, reliable solutions and proactively flag opportunities to improve on what's proposed or already in place
Thrives in Ambiguity: You do your best work in fast-moving, high-expectation environments alongside a diverse team

Standard Bots
View Company ProfileStandard Bots is a premier, enterprise-grade robotics and physical AI technology powerhouse engineered to orchestrate massive-scale automated manufacturing workflows and intelligent, continuous physical process-execution pipelines. Operating as a trailblazer in accessible, AI-powered industrial automation, the company eliminates the operational friction of traditional manufacturing robotics—which frequently suffer from exorbitant programming costs, rigid hard-coded trajectories, and weeks of setup downtime—by seamlessly deploying vision-guided robotic arms, generative spatial intelligence, and intuitive touch-interface teach telemetry. Moving beyond heavy, legacy industrial robots that require specialized systems integrators, Standard Bots empowers modern machine shops, automotive suppliers, and manufacturing enterprises to dynamically execute complex physical tasks like machine tending, CNC loading, welding, and quality inspection with elite, scalable, and audit-ready precision. Under the hood, its sophisticated proprietary operational infrastructure—bolstered by advanced neural net trajectory planning, real-time computer vision feedback loops, and human-collaborative safety architectures—natively manages multi-axis joint kinematics, continuous adaptive learning, and hardware-level execution workflows, providing the necessary foundation for high-velocity physical operations. What sets Standard Bots apart is its uncompromising dedication to frictionless "physical-orchestration"; by bridging the gap between sophisticated artificial intelligence and floor-ready industrial hardware, the firm enables manufacturing organizations to radically accelerate production throughput, eliminate costly labor-capacity bottlenecks, and build an unassailable foundation for continuous physical output in the AI-driven manufacturing ecosystem.
