Woolpert is hiring an Aerial Sensor Operator to join their dynamic Aerial Acquisitions team based out of the Dayton office. This position reports to the Geospatial Team Leader and is responsible for sensor operation and reporting for airborne mapping missions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in ground and flight operations efforts, including mission planning, execution, briefing, debriefing, communications, and safety.
  • Ensure proper collection of data for accuracy and quality.
  • Understand the collection of tactical and wide area mapping.
  • Comply with all governing regulations and work in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
  • Download, edit, and troubleshoot collected sensor data while in the field. Set up and operate ground GPS base stations and flight planning.

Requirements:

  • A High School Diploma and/or G.E.D. or two (2) years of related experience, with a degree in GIS, geography, or related discipline preferred.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
  • Ability and willingness to travel on a rotating schedule of 21 days on and 14 days off, with both domestic and international travel required.
  • Preferred knowledge of ESRI software, ArcGIS, Leica FlightPro, TerraSolid and/or TerraSolid.
  • Preferred experience operating Leica Terrain Mapper, ADS 100, and DMC.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service.
  • Possess above-average Microsoft Office suite skills and demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment, offering constructive feedback and direction.
  • Quickly adapt and respond to industry changes and internal initiatives.
  • Must have above-average verbal and written communication skills for both internal and external relationships.
