Stedi is the only headless clearinghouse and RCM engine. Headless means every part of their product is accessible via API. Developers and AI agents build their own interface on top of it. By offering modern, AI-ready APIs alongside traditional real-time and batch EDI processes, they enable both healthcare technology businesses and established players to exchange mission-critical transactions.
The Activation Engineer role is focused on ensuring customer success from the first integration call through to full production volume. You will:
Key Responsibilities:

- Work with customers from their first integration call through to running full production volume.
- Build demos, guides, and internal documentation to empower the customer-facing team to answer technical questions independently.
- Act as the conduit between customers and Product, identifying gaps and ensuring customer needs are addressed.
What You’ll Do:
- Qualify technical opportunities, determine use cases, and explain integration requirements to customers.
- Own technical design during the proof-of-concept phase, ensuring customers have what they need to test and interpret results.
- Coordinate payer list matching and run insurance discovery batch tests, sharing and interpreting results.
- Drive customers to expected transaction volume on the expected timeline, building migration plans and tracking progress.
- Create internal materials like feature overviews, positioning talk tracks, demos, and best-practice writeups.
- Represent customers to Product, writing one-pagers defining customer problems and shaping requirements.
Who You Are:
- Technical with experience using and integrating APIs, and familiarity with data formats like JSON, X12, and flat file formats.
- Proactive, anticipating customer needs before they arise based on data and ramp status.
- Product-minded, understanding gaps and articulating requirements to engineering and product teams.
- Deep customer empathy with experience in customer-facing roles, establishing credibility in technical areas.
- Subject matter expertise in Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) or excitement to learn it. Bonus points for experience at an RCM company.

View Company ProfileStedi (operating under stedi.com, legally Stedi, Inc.) is the premier, enterprise-grade programmable healthcare clearinghouse, electronic data interchange (EDI) pioneer, and developer-first health tech orchestration powerhouse engineered to act as the definitive, high-velocity transactions, real-time eligibility checks, and automated claims processing layer for modern healthcare providers, digital health platforms, and revenue cycle management (RCM) applications. Founded in 2017 by tech visionary Zack Kanter, the company completely eliminates the severe systemic friction of traditional healthcare administration—where developers suffer from the immense overhead of ancient X12 EDI file formats, face complex manual insurance enrollment loops, and struggle with high-latency transaction networks—by deploying a code-first, developer-friendly transactional API matrix. Moving far beyond legacy, black-box clearinghouses that rely on brittle SFTP batch processing and paper-heavy workflows, Stedi natively unifies real-time eligibility checks (270/271), multi-format claims submissions (837), digital remittances (835), real-time claim status tracking (276/277), and paper-to-digital claim options into a high-availability developer workspace. Guided by a mission to turn the underlying plumbing of healthcare into a seamless API, the platform empowers rapid-growth health platforms to automate their entire billing loop, scale and configure custom payer rules, and launch native billing integrations with zero legacy friction. Highlighting its category-defining momentum and investor confidence, the high-growth enterprise has raised over $266.5 million in institutional venture capital, backed by a monumental $50 million Series C financing round in March 2026 led by Addition with continued participation from Stripe, Ribbit Capital, Union Square Ventures, First Round Capital, BoxGroup, and Bloomberg Beta, alongside tech luminaries including Tobi Lütke (Shopify), Guillermo Rauch (Vercel), and Karim Atiyeh (Ramp). Under the hood, its technology core utilizes optimized web-ready JSON interfaces that instantly parse and compile raw X12 EDI documents, secure real-time routing nodes to thousands of commercial insurance payers, and a HIPAA-compliant, SOC 2-certified data infrastructure built to process hundreds of millions of monthly transactions with millisecond-level execution latency. What sets Stedi apart is its uncompromising dedication to replacing fragmented, legacy healthcare networks with absolute transactional predictability, a modern developer ecosystem, and automated claim flow integrity; by bridging the gap between performance-intensive structural data routing and the fast-paced, high-overhead realities of modern clinical operations, the corporation remains a definitive cornerstone of modern algorithmic healthtech and global billing infrastructure transformation.
