American Operator
View Company ProfileAmerican Operator (operating at americanoperator.com) is a small-business acquisition and ownership platform engineered for preserving and revitalizing America’s independent enterprises. Founded in 2021 by Will Fry (Founder/CEO) and Steven Windwer (Founder/Executive Chairman), the company bridges the generational gap by acquiring small businesses—typically valued between $2 million and $5 million—from retiring owners and transitioning them to the next generation of proven operators. Unlike traditional private equity or corporate buyouts, American Operator prioritizes local ownership, fostering a community of entrepreneurs with access to mentorship, resources, and deal opportunities. Its model ensures everyday Americans—not Wall Street firms—fund acquisitions, aligning ownership with community values. By focusing on hands-on, operator-driven leadership, American Operator revitalizes small businesses from the ground up, ensuring they remain rooted in their communities while benefiting from structured support and capital access.
