We exist to free our clients' time so they can focus on what they do best — growing their business. We deliver smart, efficient solutions that liberate teams from the everyday admin, and we hold ourselves to the same standard. Time is the ultimate currency, and we treat it like it.

About the Client

Our client s an independent firm of Chartered Accountants and Registered Auditors based in Leicester, UK, with over 100 years of experience serving businesses and individuals across the East Midlands. They are expanding their offshore team to support accounting, audit, tax, and business advisory services, helping deliver high-quality, client-focused solutions across a diverse portfolio of clients.

The Role

As an Accounts Trainee, you will support a portfolio of UK clients by preparing statutory accounts and tax computations while ensuring work is completed accurately and on time. Working closely with UK-based managers and the offshore team, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality financial reporting and maintaining excellent client service. Success in the first 6–12 months means confidently managing your assigned portfolio, producing review-ready accounts with minimal revisions, and building strong working relationships with both clients and colleagues.

What You'll Do

  • Working on a portfolio of clients, ensuring work is completed in a timely manner.
  • Prepare annual accounts and tax computations for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
  • Communicate with clients via email to resolve queries that arise during the accounts preparation.
  • Communicate with client managers in the UK for job planning and regular progress updates.
  • Manage all work efficiently, profitably and in accordance with the Company’s procedures.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience of working for a UK accountancy practice
  • Be computer literate (particularly Microsoft Excel and accounting software such as Xero, Sage and Quickbooks)
  • Have good verbal and written communication skills.

Key Result Area

  • Plan, analyse and prepare working papers and financial statements for accounts managers to review. Work within budgets set to ensure profitability on jobs.
  • Contact clients via email to raise any queries on the accounts and update the accounts as necessary to reflect the clients responses.
  • Keep the Department Managers fully informed of status of all work, any challenges or delays encountered and suggestions for resolution of the same.
  • Deliver an excellent level of customer service, managing and exceeding client expectations, responding to all ad hoc queries in a timely manner.
  • Work with our existing team in the Philippines and with our UK based staff to progress technical skills and knowledge. Attend (virtually) and complete all mandatory training required by Client, ensuring our internal CPD requirement is met.

Why This Role

This role is an excellent opportunity to build a long-term career in UK accounting while working with a well-established chartered accountancy firm and a diverse portfolio of clients. You'll gain hands-on experience preparing statutory accounts and tax computations, collaborate closely with UK-based professionals, and continuously develop your technical expertise through structured training, mentorship, and real client engagements.

The Back Room Offshoring (operating under thebackroomop.com, legally The Back Room Offshoring Inc.) is the premier, enterprise-grade offshore staffing platform, global capacity optimization pioneer, and back-office delivery powerhouse engineered to act as the definitive, high-velocity human capital, specialized accounting, and operational scaling layer for modern accounting practices, legal firms, and digital marketing agencies across North America, Australia, and New Zealand. Co-founded by Chartered Accountants and technology veterans Wayne Findlay and Scott Findlay, the company completely eliminates the severe systemic friction of modern talent acquisition—where accounting practices lose immense growth momentum, face debilitating local talent shortages, and drown in low-margin compliance tasks—by deploying a high-touch, long-term offshore professional matrix. Moving far beyond traditional, transaction-heavy outsourcing models or faceless BPO agencies that pass off generic task-takers, The Back Room natively unifies dedicated elite accountants, marketing virtual assistants, specialized administrative managers, and its custom proprietary AI-driven automated financial review engine (GERI) into a high-availability, deeply integrated extension of each client's in-house squad. Maintaining a 95% client retention rate and a 90% employee retention rate, the infrastructure anchors over 500 top-tier professionals across its production-hardened operations hub in Clark, Pampanga, Philippines. Under the hood, its operational deployment core features strict international security compliance standards, conforming completely to ISO/IEC 27001 data protection mandates via BARR Certifications audits. The company pairs deep local cultural talent loops with robust ongoing upskilling, US/UK/AU tax certification pipelines, and advanced Xero migration workflows to protect operational delivery speed without structural errors. What sets The Back Room apart is its uncompromising dedication to replacing fragmented, low-context transactional outsourcing with absolute team integration, high-value advisory enablement, and direct organizational velocity; by bridging the gap between performance-intensive compliance workloads and real-world executive practice freedom, the enterprise remains the definitive cornerstone of modern algorithmic offshore workforce engineering and global back-office transformation.
