Position Overview
We are seeking a highly analytical, systems-minded Systems Engineer - Western Australia to join our core global Product division in a full-time remote hybrid capacity within Western Australia, Australia. In this high-leverage infrastructure seat, you will act as the primary technical anchor claiming individual accountability over level 3 escalation support, system availability, and preventative troubleshooting across our extensive Managed Services enterprise customer portfolio. Moving entirely past passive status tracking or simple password resets, you will command multi-tenant server configurations, trace abstract failure modes down to root cause under pressure, and translate ambiguous client business requests into high-performance technical frameworks. This position demands a proactive engineer who thrives in fast-paced environments, maintains absolute documentation hygiene, handles technical friction with calm articulation, and collaborates peer-to-peer to mentor junior engineers on the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Level 3 Managed Services Support: Provide elite, top-tier technical escalation support for enterprise customers, focusing relentlessly on stabilizing, optimization, and refining physical and virtual server performance.
- Infrastructure Troubleshooting Triage: Isolate, diagnose, and eliminate systemic server faults, network connection drops, and compute infrastructure blocks to minimize customer-facing service downtime.
- Proactive Problem Management: Audit client infrastructure environments systematically to identify underlying performance degradation trends, raising proactive engineering adjustments before anomalies impact operations.
- Linux and Database Server Administration: Configure, maintain, and secure robust bare-metal and virtualized environments, utilizing specialized systems tracking natively across Linux SUSE kernels and managing data architectures via SQL registries.
- Hypervisor Environment Control: Administer, provision, and load-balance distributed enterprise hypervisor engines, checking absolute resource allocations across multi-tenant virtualization clusters.
- High-Touch Stakeholder Communication: Liaise with internal cross-functional pods and external enterprise stakeholders, translating dense engineering telemetry into plain-language business solutions and preventative metrics.
- Technical Asset Documentation Governance: Design, author, and update immaculate environmental topology sheets, disaster recovery runbooks, and server mapping files to protect team operational continuity.
- On-Call Roster Collaboration: Participate actively within our paid corporate on-call rotation schedules and support necessary paid overtime windows to protect continuous global service reliability.
- Junior Developer Mentorship: Act as an engineering mentor across the department, guiding junior technical contributors through complex pull requests, script troubleshooting, and systems architecture parameters to foster team growth.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proven professional history running advanced systems engineering, infrastructure administration, Level 3 technical support tracking, or DevOps-aligned network operations.
- Demonstrated commercial experience managing, configuring, and optimizing enterprise server roles and distributed hypervisor architectures.
- Strong working knowledge of relational data engines, highlighting a distinct operational history executing basic database adjustments or server maintenance natively within SQL or Microsoft SQL environments.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication mechanics, demonstrating the capacity to remain articulate, calm, and highly analytical when debugging mission-critical technical issues under pressure.
- Outstanding problem-solving logic paired with structural familiarity navigating enterprise corporate ticketing platforms, asset registries, and continuous documentation systems.
- Statutory Compliance Screening: Possession of, or full readiness to successfully secure, a valid regional Working with Children Check (WWCC) and a clean national Police Background Check.
- Location Context: Parameters open exclusively to qualified systems engineers base-stationed permanently within Western Australia, Australia to operate under a flexible remote hybrid framework containing team anchor days.
Preferred Strategic Indicators (Nice to Have)
- Possession of accredited, recognized industry technical marks, such as formal Microsoft Certifications, Cisco network designations, or validated Linux SUSE system administrator credentials.
- Outstanding, production-tested web research capabilities—possessing some of the best advanced Google-fu search methodologies in town to quickly isolate undocumented software bugs.
- Prior background deploying managed services architectures, unified communications nodes, or private cloud storage configurations for regulated enterprise clients or tech scale-ups.
- An outcome-driven, self-managed personal mindset that treats both massive scary infrastructure overhauls and tiny boring configuration tickets with equal dedication and craftsmanship.
What We Offer
- The exceptional professional canvas to directly direct, shape, and deploy the Level 3 engineering frameworks and server platforms protecting operational uptime for leading brands across Australia.
- Highly competitive, capability-benchmarked baseline salary packages supplemented by structured, paid on-call roster incentives and paid overtime allocations.
- Profound work-from-home remote hybrid parameters offering superior workspace flexibility, dedicated team collaboration anchor days, and zero physical commuting friction.
- Access to extensive, company-funded professional training pathways and continuous technical development tracks tied directly to your career planning.
- The ultimate developer baseline layout: choose your own **preferred enterprise IT hardware configuration** to maximize execution speed, paired with exclusive access to cost-price technology purchases for personal home needs.
- Immediate enrollment into complete corporate corporate discount matrix networks to maximize your personal financial savings.
- Immersion into an ultra-engaging, inclusive, and multi-award-winning corporate community that hosts regular team celebration events to connect outside of the production timeline.
