About CoLab: CoLab is the AI platform for driving stronger engineering decisions. It builds a knowledge repository of design feedback, decisions, and lessons learned, which AI agents use to flag issues on future designs before they compound. The platform helps companies like Ford, Komatsu, and Johnson Controls catch issues earlier, eliminate rework cycles, and bring products to market faster.
Founded in St. John’s, Newfoundland, CoLab has grown rapidly since its first customer in 2019. The company has been recognized on Deloitte’s Fast 50™ and Fast 500™, and named a Canadian company to watch by The Globe and Mail and Financial Post.
About the Role
You’ll join CoLab’s Strategy team, tackling some of the most important and least-defined questions across the business. Your responsibilities may include researching emerging markets, analyzing customer data, shaping executive presentations, or leading cross-functional projects. You won’t always have a detailed playbook; instead, you’ll need to ask insightful questions, gather relevant information, and drive progress.
This role is ideal for someone who is intensely curious, ambitious, and eager to understand how a high-growth B2B SaaS company operates.
Our Ideal Candidate
You’re early in your career but already trusted with challenging problems. You’re curious enough to delve deeper than the initial question, synthesizing messy collections of customer conversations, market data, and internal context into useful insights. You don’t wait for perfect instructions but take initiative when the answer isn’t obvious.
You communicate clearly, prioritize quality, and collaborate effectively with people across different functions and levels of seniority. If you thrive in ambiguous environments and enjoy figuring out unfamiliar challenges, this role is for you.
Job Responsibilities
- Research industry trends, market segments, competitors, and customer needs to uncover business opportunities.
- Support strategy development with rigorous research, data, insights, and hands-on execution.
- Partner with Product, Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success teams on market and competitive research.
- Take ambiguous business questions, structure the problem, gather evidence, and recommend practical next steps.
- Build presentations, briefing documents, analyses, and other materials to help teams make better decisions.
- Own high-impact, cross-functional projects as new priorities and opportunities emerge.
- Turn insights into actionable steps rather than stopping at analysis.
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of relevant experience; exceptional new graduates with strong internship or co-op experience are encouraged to apply.
- Strong research, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to synthesize complex information and communicate what matters clearly.
- Comfortable taking ownership with limited direction while knowing when to ask for input or support.
- Genuine enthusiasm for learning how businesses, markets, customers, and products work.
- Exposure to B2B SaaS, consulting, startups, or Marketing, Sales, Product, or Customer Success teams is a plus.
CoLab encourages applicants who identify with historically marginalized groups to apply even if they don’t meet every qualification, as potential is what matters most.

Colabsoftware
View Company ProfileCoLab Software is the world’s first Design Engagement System (DES) created specifically for mechanical engineering teams. Founded by engineers who previously worked at Tesla and ExxonMobil, they realized that while the physical products being built were highly advanced, the tools used to review and approve those designs were stuck in the past. CoLab acts as a centralized, cloud-based hub where engineers, suppliers, and stakeholders can securely share, view, and markup massive 3D CAD models and 2D drawings directly in their web browser. Recently, they have heavily integrated AI agents ('AutoReview') that automatically scan designs against company standards to flag errors before human review even begins.
