Strategic Events Manager Overview
Incident IQ is seeking an experienced Strategic Events Manager on a contract basis to support our Field and Events Marketing team through our busiest event season of the year, and to provide coverage during a team member’s maternity leave in Q1 2027. This role reports to the Field and Events Marketing Director. The contract runs from as soon as possible through April 30, 2027, at 30 to 40 hours per week.
The Strategic Events Manager will serve as project manager for large-scale, company-hosted events, plan and execute tradeshow sponsorships at industry conferences, and support additional events as needed. The role requires flexibility as we navigate our busy event season and build our strategy for 2027.
We’re looking for someone who has planned full conferences end to end and can step in quickly in a fast-paced environment.
Strategic Events Manager Responsibilities
Large-Scale Event Planning & Execution
- Serve as project manager for large-scale, company-hosted events, owning both planning and hands-on execution.
- Manage event timelines, budgets, and vendors, and lead cross-functional collaboration to keep deliverables and stakeholders aligned.
- Execute event logistics including venue, hotel, AV, catering, registration, and attendee experience, and serve as an onsite lead during events.
Tradeshow Sponsorships
- Plan and execute small and medium-sized booth sponsorships at industry conferences.
- Manage contracting, vendors, budgets, and logistics.
- Collaborate with Sales and other internal teams attending each event.
Additional Event Support
- Support other events as needed, including lunch and learns, VIP happy hours and dinners, and networking events.
Strategic Events Manager Requirements
Experience:
5+ years of experience in event planning, in any industry, including proven experience planning full conferences end to end.
Large-Scale Event Experience:
Experience planning large-scale, multi-day conferences or customer-facing events.
Project Management:
Strong experience with project management and cross-functional collaboration.
Travel & Onsite:
Comfortable with limited travel (no more than 10%) and some onsite event management.
Self-Starter:
Ability to ramp up quickly and self-onboard.
Nice to Have
- Based in the Atlanta area and able to work from our Alpharetta or Glencastle office one to two times per week.
