The Staff Solutions Architect owns end-to-end solutioning for initiatives across Tonal’s Business Systems ecosystem, including NetSuite, Salesforce, iPaaS/integration layers, and connected applications for commerce, finance, fulfillment, and service processes.

You are accountable for the full development lifecycle of initiatives, from understanding the business problem, designing future processes and system solutions, leading technical design, defining and executing test approaches, and ensuring adoption and delivery.

Tonal’s business model spans connected hardware and recurring membership revenue across multiple channels. Solutions designed will touch the entire commercial and operational value chain, including lead-to-quote, order management, fulfillment, customer support, reverse logistics, and financial processes.

What You Will Do

1. Requirements & Process Design

  • Partner with stakeholders across Sales, Care, Operations, and Finance to define systems strategy, gather and document business requirements, and convert ambiguous requests into clear initiatives and scoped solutions.
  • Analyze current-state processes and pain points, designing future-state processes that improve outcomes rather than automating inefficiencies.
  • Facilitate design workshops and drive alignment across functions with competing priorities.

2. Solution & Technical Design

  • Own system solution design across NetSuite, Salesforce, and integrated applications, making explicit build/configure/buy and native/custom trade-offs.
  • Assist technical leads in authoring and reviewing technical design documents, data models, and integration patterns, setting direction for developers and external partners.
  • Work with technical leads to design integrations with the team’s iPaaS platform, defining data schemas, error handling, reprocessing, and reconciliation approaches.
  • Contribute to enterprise architecture decisions and influence the Business Systems roadmap.

3. Testing & Delivery

  • Develop test strategies and test cases (functional, integration, regression, UAT) tied back to documented requirements.
  • Execute and coordinate testing, including stakeholder UAT, and drive defects to resolution.
  • Own the solution through cutover, hypercare, and handoff to support, ensuring it is adopted and working.
  • Troubleshoot process, application, and functional issues, managing them to root cause.

4. Practices & Enablement

  • Establish and uphold solution design standards, documentation expectations, and SDLC discipline within the team.
  • Apply sound system governance practices, including change management, environment and release management, access controls, segregation of duties, and audit trails.
  • Develop and deliver end-user training and enablement for systems and processes.
  • Mentor analysts, developers, and administrators on solution design, process knowledge, and technical craft.

Who You Are

  • 8+ years designing and deploying NetSuite solutions in enterprise environments, including hands-on configuration and extension.
  • Direct experience with Salesforce Sales and Services Clouds as part of a connected ecosystem, including data models, objects, workflows, and ERP integrations.
  • Hands-on experience with iPaaS platforms (e.g., MuleSoft, Boomi, Celigo, Workato), including integration design patterns, error handling, and monitoring.
  • Strong functional knowledge of financial and accounting processes, such as order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, and record-to-report.
  • Working knowledge of commercial and operational processes, including lead-to-quote, order management, fulfillment, logistics, customer support, and reverse logistics in omnichannel environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to convert ambiguous requirements into delivered solutions in complex, integrated environments.
  • Ability to transition seamlessly from technical configuration discussions to future-state strategy conversations with senior stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to build cross-functional relationships for large-scale process and system changes.
  • Comfortable challenging the status quo with knowledge to explain why, and leading by example in improving ways of working.
  • Experience with agile delivery methodologies and common SDLC frameworks.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-moving environments with context switching, scoping, and committed delivery happening in parallel.
  • Growth mindset and genuine interest in learning new systems and domains.

Nice to Have

  • Best-practice knowledge of IT General Controls, including change management, access controls, and segregation of duties, and how to design systems that hold up to audit.
  • Experience onboarding new SaaS applications into an ERP ecosystem, including vendor evaluation, selection, and implementation oversight.
  • Familiarity with WMS, 3PL, and carrier integrations.

Tonal is the premier, enterprise-grade digital fitness innovator, connected hardware pioneer, and AI-driven strength training powerhouse engineered to operate as the definitive, intelligent resistance layer for personal conditioning, physical rehabilitation, and athletic performance worldwide. The company completely eliminates the severe systemic friction of traditional strength training—where athletes and fitness enthusiasts face space-intensive physical weight stacks, inaccurate manual performance tracking, incorrect lifting mechanics, and the constant threat of injury due to fixed loading profiles—by deploying an advanced digital weight ecosystem. Moving far beyond traditional, passive cable crossover machines or generic connected treadmills, Tonal natively unifies electromagnetic resistance engines generating up to 200 pounds of digital weight, real-time AI form feedback tracking, dynamic spotter safety modes, and adaptive weight adjustments that alter resistance millimeter-by-millimeter to match a user's unique strength curve. Trusted by hundreds of thousands of elite home athletes and professional competitors—including brand ambassadors and investors like Serena Williams, LeBron James, and Stephen Curry—the platform empowers fitness enthusiasts to compress workout durations, eliminate plate-swapping bottlenecks, and achieve unprecedented strength gains with production-hardened engineering precision. Under the hood, its sophisticated technical core—backed by over $450 million in growth funding from elite venture groups like L Catterton and Sapphire Ventures—natively orchestrates dual-arm electronic actuator loops, advanced gyroscopic sensors inside smart handles, and high-velocity cloud-synchronized personal milestone telemetry. What sets Tonal apart is its uncompromising dedication to replacing dumb iron with absolute algorithmic momentum; by bridging the gap between performance-intensive structural data analytics and elegant, home-integrated design, the company remains the absolute, undisputed category leader in connected strength tech and personalized digital coaching.
