Fieldguide is revolutionizing global commerce and capital markets by automating and streamlining advisory, audit, and tax workflows for the world’s largest CPA firms. Their mission is to build software for the professionals who establish trust between businesses.

Based in San Francisco with a remote-first culture, Fieldguide is backed by top-tier investors including Goldman Sachs, Bessemer Venture Partners, 8VC, and Y Combinator. They prioritize diversity and inclusivity, fostering a supportive, growth-oriented team.

As a growth-stage startup employee, you’ll help shape the future of business trust by reducing up to 50% of audit practitioners’ workload, improving their work-life balance.

About the Role

Internal audit teams are increasingly stretched thin, with budget cuts rising from 11% to 19% and staff cuts climbing from 11% to 18% (IIA’s 2026 North American Pulse of Internal Audit). Meanwhile, the audit universe continues to expand.

As the Staff Product Manager for Internal Audit, you’ll define the strategy for Fieldguide’s entry into this market and lead the roadmap to success.

What You'll Do
  • Develop a comprehensive product strategy for Fieldguide’s internal audit solutions, from market entry to a detailed, phased roadmap.

  • Design and implement enterprise-grade AI agents to enhance efficiency, quality, and practitioner experience across the entire audit lifecycle—from planning and risk assessment to execution and reporting.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including customer success, sales, and marketing, to gather feedback, communicate strategy, and drive the adoption of new product features.

  • Engage directly with Chief Audit Executives, VPs of Internal Audit, and Heads of IT Audit, including onsite visits, to understand their needs and translate them into product requirements.

Who You Are
  • Possess 10+ years of product management experience.

  • Have experience with internal audit, SOX, risk, or regulated compliance workflows, either as a practitioner or a PM who has built software for these markets.

  • Fluent in the terminology of internal audit, including audit universe, entity-level controls, risk and control matrices, walkthroughs, deficiency severity, remediation, and external auditor reliance.

  • Strong technical fluency with the ability to discuss LLM and agent architecture, evaluations, and trade-offs with engineers without needing to write code.

  • Capable of maintaining a strategic position under sustained commercial pressure and adjusting it when compelling arguments arise.

  • Comfortable working with detail-oriented, skeptical stakeholders and translating their workflows into product requirements.
