Reddit's developer ecosystem is one of the biggest opportunities to make Reddit more useful, expressive, extensible, and valuable. Today, most people who build on Reddit are developers: they write code, use Devvit, work with APIs, and ship apps or games through a relatively technical workflow. That ecosystem is growing quickly and remains critical.
But the future is bigger than developers alone. AI-assisted building is changing who can create software. The next generation of Reddit apps, games, tools, community agents, content formats, and workflows should be buildable by many more people: developers, technically curious creators, moderators, community builders, game designers, data partners, and eventually people who can describe what they want without needing to code it by hand.
The Developer Ecosystem team owns the product systems that help this broader set of builders discover opportunities, create successfully, launch high-quality apps and games, reach the right users and communities, adopt new platform capabilities, and keep improving after launch. This includes surfaces and systems like developers.reddit.com, AI-assisted creation, app review, developer and creator onboarding, app marketplace experiences, platform capabilities, best practices, and support for emerging creator categories.
About the Role
We are looking for a Staff Product Manager to lead Reddit's Builder Ecosystem product strategy. This person will define the roadmap for how Reddit moves from a developer-only ecosystem to a broader builder ecosystem where AI-assisted and no-code creation become first-class parts of the platform.
The role spans developer growth, creator onboarding, AI-assisted building, app quality, ecosystem incentives, platform capabilities, app marketplace strategy, operational tooling, feature adoption, and new builder categories.
This is a high-ambiguity platform role with direct business, product, and community impact. The right PM will be able to bridge two worlds: they should understand the needs of serious developers and platform engineers, while also having strong conviction that Reddit can unlock a much larger wave of builders by making creation more accessible, guided, AI-native, and outcome-oriented.
What You'll Do
- Define the product strategy for Reddit's Developer Ecosystem, including the transition from code-first developers to a broader base of AI-assisted creators.
- Own the roadmap for developers.reddit.com as the primary builder portal, including onboarding, docs, app management, analytics, review status, feature access, education, examples, templates, and AI-assisted creation entry points.
- Lead strategy for AI-assisted app creation, including prompt-to-app workflows, AI building tools, no-code or low-code experiences, reusable templates, generated scaffolds, and systems that help creators turn ideas into useful Reddit-native apps.
- Build the product approach for an App Marketplace that helps users, moderators, communities, and internal teams discover high-quality apps, games, agents, tools, and community experiences.
- Improve app review and ecosystem operations through tooling, automation, and AI-assisted workflows, including LLM-powered app review, policy checks, quality signals, and reviewer efficiency.
- Partner with Engineering to prioritize core platform capabilities and performance improvements such as webhooks, webviews, APIs, SDKs, tooling, observability, and other primitives builders need to create reliable apps.
- Drive more successful, retentive, and popular apps and games by identifying best practices, improving templates, shaping incentives, and creating clearer paths from idea to launch to growth.
- Identify and support new creator and developer categories.
- Partner with internal teams such as Contribution, Community Builders, Games, Search, Recommendations, Safety, and Ads to help them launch new functionality through the developer ecosystem.
- Define and improve feature adoption programs so builders understand, test, and successfully use new platform capabilities.
- Work with developer relations to establish the measurement system for the ecosystem, including weekly active developers/creators, NPS/CSAT, app launches, app retention and more.
- Create clear frameworks for when Reddit should build platform primitives, launch templates, fund builders, partner with external teams, promote apps, or shut down low-quality or low-trust ecosystem behavior.
- Lead cross-functional alignment across Product, Engineering, DevRel, Community, Data, Safety, Legal, Policy, Support, BD, and senior leadership.
What We're Looking For
- Experience leading high-ambiguity platform, developer ecosystem, creator ecosystem, marketplace, gaming, AI tooling, or developer experience products.
- Strong product judgment for creation platforms: understanding what makes a platform powerful for advanced developers, approachable for new creators, trustworthy for communities, and worth sustained investment.
- Comfort with code, APIs, developer tools, technical platform tradeoffs, and engineering conversations, paired with strong conviction that AI-assisted and no-code creation will expand who can build on Reddit.
- Ability to reason across multiple sides of the ecosystem: developers, creators, users, moderators, communities, internal teams, partners, and Reddit's business priorities.
- Experience improving developer or creator onboarding, docs, portals, SDKs, APIs, marketplaces, app review, app distribution, AI creation tools, or app-building workflows.
- Strong analytical judgment and comfort defining metrics for ecosystem health, builder productivity, app quality, retention, distribution, and business impact.
- Ability to partner deeply with Engineering on platform capabilities, performance, reliability, primitives, observability, and build-vs-buy decisions.
- Strong product sense for apps, games, agents, content creation tools, community-native experiences, and the kinds of lightweight software that should exist inside Reddit communities.
- Comfort working with AI-assisted creation tools, LLM-based workflows, prompt-to-app systems, or other emerging ways of helping more people build software.
- Excellent written communication and decision frameworks that help teams make crisp investment decisions in ambiguous spaces.

Reddit is a social news and discussion website where users can share and discuss content on a wide range of topics. The platform is divided into thousands of communities, known as subreddits, each focused on a specific topic or interest. Users can submit content, such as links, images, and text posts, and engage with others through comments and votes. Reddit's algorithm uses the votes to rank content, making popular posts more visible to a wider audience. The company aims to provide a platform for users to share ideas, opinions, and experiences, and to facilitate discussions and connections between people with similar interests. With its large and active user base, Reddit has become a significant platform for social and cultural commentary, and has been used by companies and organizations to engage with their audiences and promote their brands.
