Position Overview

We are seeking a highly autonomous, systems-fluent, and process-proficient Senior Consultant – SAP Production Planning to lead and deliver manufacturing-focused enterprise resource solutions under a permanent, full-time remote configuration open across the United States and Mumbai, India. In this high-leverage technical advisory seat, you will claim end-to-end design, implementation, and optimization ownership over complex SAP Production Planning (PP) workstreams across classic ECC systems and modern S/4HANA platforms. Shifting completely away from routine non-regulated administrative transcription data entry, generic promotional copywriting loops, or standalone website frontend layout configurations, you will run an active fit-to-standard process mapping, embedded planning and detailed scheduling (PP-DS), and manufacturing digitization laboratory. Partnering directly alongside global execution teams, RICEF developers, and executive client steering committees, you will guide manufacturers through high-value greenfield and brownfield migrations. This position requires an enterprise consulting authority with 7+ years of hands-on SAP PP implementation history who coordinates complex production lifecycles fluidly natively using Project Management and manufacturing primitives, designs deep multi-module integration tracks, and models automated shop floor architectures.

Key Responsibilities

• End-to-End PP Solution Design Governance: Lead the blueprinting, functional configuration, and technical delivery of SAP PP modules tailored explicitly for manufacturing enterprise clients natively utilizing Project Management guidelines.
• S/4HANA Migration & Transformation Strategy: Drive high-scale system transformations from classic ECC frameworks to S/4HANA solutions—leading the critical transition to embedded PP-DS, MRP Live execution, and predictive Planning.
• Deep Cross-Module System Integration: Architect and test rigid cross-module dependencies spanning SAP PP-MM (procurement, subcontracting), PP-SD (ATP matrices), PP-QM (batch inspections), PP-FI/CO (product costing, WIP variance), and PP-EWM (material staging).
• Advanced Variant Configuration Management: Design and execute migration strategies for complex multi-tier products moving from classic Variant Configuration (LO-VC) to S/4HANA Advanced Variant Configuration (AVC) models.
• RICEF Specifications & Data Migration: Formulate, estimate, and prioritize custom RICEF (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms) items, defining cutover data strategies for manufacturing master records.
• Shop Floor Digitalization & MES Interfacing: Deploy modern SAP Fiori shop floor apps and Manufacturing Cockpit components, establishing automated integration patterns next to SAP Digital Manufacturing Cloud (DMC) or legacy MES nodes.
• Multi-Scenario Manufacturing Configurations: Program and validate a diverse blend of manufacturing orders, encompassing discrete manufacturing setups, process manufacturing (PI sheets, batching), and repetitive manufacturing (REM backflushing).
• Steering Committee Stakeholder Support: Deliver client-facing technical advisory, leading technical presentations, estimating Statement of Work (SOW) resource costs, and mentoring junior SAP consultants cross-functionally.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• A minimum of 7+ years of proven, successful professional history operating inside a Senior SAP PP Consultant, SAP Manufacturing Architect, Enterprise Resource Planning Lead, or closely matching technical supply chain delivery capacity.
• Expert Full Lifecycle Implementation Record: Demonstrated history leading multiple end-to-end SAP PP lifecycle rollouts from initial fit-to-standard discovery workshops through final deployment cutovers.
• Hands-on functional mastery configuring core SAP PP structures: Bills of Materials (BOMs), routings, work centers, resources, demand management strategies (MTS, MTO, CTO), and classic MRP engines.
• Practical functional experience or deployment literacy handling S/4HANA manufacturing capabilities and embedded PP-DS tools.
• Outstanding written, verbal, and analytical communication strengths in English, with an established background presenting solution frameworks to corporate C-suite executives.
• Location Context: Position operates under remote guidelines open exclusively to qualified enterprise software consulting authorities residing permanently within the United States or Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.

Preferred Strategic Indicators (Nice to Have)

• Prior experience or direct platform background engineering advanced planning models like Demand-Driven MRP (DDMRP) or managing CPQ (Configure-Price-Quote) software pipelines.
• Familiarity or technical exposure navigating SAP BTP / BAIP and modern cloud development frameworks (including MTA, CAP, or RAP interfaces).
• Possess formal SAP certifications or a formal Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Information Systems, or a matching field.
