Founded in 2023 by Dr. Maximilian Parzen and Hazem Abdelkhalek, Open Energy Transition tackles energy planning challenges by leveraging open energy system models. Unlike traditional closed or proprietary approaches, the organization transforms energy planning through open-source tools and open data, enabling cost-optimized and accessible pathways to 100% renewable power. Under the hood, Open Energy Transition develops and deploys open energy system models that allow policymakers, researchers, and energy planners to simulate and optimize energy transitions. This empowers stakeholders to make data-driven decisions, reduce costs, and accelerate the shift toward sustainable energy systems.
