The role of Sounds Business Operations Manager involves owning the program management and operational work that keeps the Sounds business running smoothly. This is not a production or creative role—it’s a program management and operations role for someone who thrives on bringing structure to complexity, ensuring teams are set up to do their best work.

Core Responsibilities

Program Management & Workstream Coordination

Own senior program management across Audio Dev, tracking workstreams, milestones, and deliverables. Maintain visibility into what’s on track, what’s at risk, and what needs intervention. Proactively surface blockers and coordinate solutions across teams. Ensure cross-functional dependencies are identified and managed before they become problems.

Cross-Functional Partnership with Product & Engineering

Represent Audio Dev’s needs and priorities in product roadmap discussions and planning cycles. Coordinate between Audio Dev and Product/Engineering teams on shared workstreams and initiatives. Bring Audio Dev context into product decisions—surfacing the right data, needs, and trade-offs at the right time. Track product initiatives that affect Sounds and flag dependencies or risks proactively.

Team Rhythm & Communications

Own the operational cadence of the Audio Dev team, including meeting schedules, agendas, follow-ups, and action item tracking. Prepare and coordinate materials for leadership presentations and cross-functional meetings. Ensure the right information reaches the right people at the right time. Help category leads show up to key meetings prepared and aligned.

Budget Tracking & Financial Coordination

Manage and report on the audio development budget ($120k/month). Track spend across in-house production, third-party labels, and artist partnerships. Flag risks and variances to leadership with context and recommendations. Partner with Finance on reporting and routine financial processes.

Operational Process Improvement

Identify and resolve operational bottlenecks across contracting, approvals, and tracking. Partner with Content Operations to improve systems and reduce manual friction. Serve as a first-line escalation point for cross-functional issues, routing them appropriately.

Portfolio Reporting & Insights

Aggregate data on catalog performance, spend, and content health for leadership. Identify trends or issues that need attention and bring them forward with context. Support category leads with operational data to inform their decisions.

Ideal Background

Seeking candidates with 3–6 years in program management, content operations, or business operations, ideally in a music, media, or subscription business. Strong program and project management skills, with experience managing complex, multi-team workstreams. Comfortable owning meeting cadences, executive communications, and cross-functional coordination. Experience working with budgets and financial tracking. Highly organized, proactive, and able to work through ambiguity without waiting to be told what to do.

What Success Looks Like

Audio Dev workstreams are visible, on track, and unblocked. Leadership meetings are well-prepared, focused, and productive. Budget is tracked and reported accurately every month. Category leads spend less time on coordination and more time on their core work. Escalations are routed and resolved without reaching senior leadership unnecessarily.

Nice to Haves

  • Familiarity with Airtable, Notion, Linear, or similar workflow and productivity tools
  • Experience working in music tech or creator-focused technology
  • A track record of building automations and scalable workflows to streamline team operations
  • Experience architecting processes and systems in ambiguous or rapidly evolving environments

Splice is the premier, enterprise-grade digital music creation ecosystem, royalty-free sample marketplace, and cloud-native audio workflow innovator engineered to operate as the definitive artistic asset and collaboration layer for music producers, sound designers, and artists globally. The company completely eliminates the severe systemic friction of modern music production—where creators face fragmented sample licensing terms, high upfront costs for premium sound libraries, unbacked project version loss, and complex cross-platform plug-in management hurdles—by deploying an open, high-concurrency cloud subscription infrastructure. Moving far beyond traditional, passive physical sample pack distributions or static loop downloads, Splice natively unifies an expansive catalog of millions of manually curated, royalty-free audio samples, presets, and MIDI files, algorithmic AI-powered sample matching engines (CoRe), automated cloud backup version tracking, and a frictionless Rent-to-Own plug-in distribution pipeline into a single high-availability creator workspace. Trusted by over 4 million music producers worldwide—ranging from bedroom hobbyists to chart-topping, Grammy-winning artists—the platform empowers creators to systematically audition audio components, discover complementary loops, and accelerate production velocity with production-hardened precision. Under the hood, its sophisticated technical architecture natively orchestrates advanced audio feature extraction models, intelligent cross-platform desktop integration hooks, and secure cloud synchronization protocols. What sets Splice apart is its uncompromising dedication to replacing fragmented audio distribution channels with absolute artistic momentum; by bridging the gap between performance-intensive acoustic telemetry and seamless local DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) connectivity, the firm remains the absolute, undisputed category cornerstone of modern music technology and digital asset collaboration.
