About the Role:

We're looking for a Software Engineer who uses AI as a core part of the development process to build, understand, and maintain complex software systems.

You'll join a team working on a large ecosystem of interconnected services, shared libraries, REST APIs, asynchronous messaging, and event-driven data flows. The environment includes multiple technologies, databases, and frontend applications, so adaptability and strong engineering judgment are just as important as technical expertise.

We’re looking for someone who can quickly understand unfamiliar systems, leverage AI tools effectively, and take ownership of building reliable, scalable solutions.

What You'll Do:

  • Build and maintain backend services and frontend features.
  • Design and implement APIs, integrations, and business workflows.
  • Work with asynchronous processing, queues, retries, and scheduled tasks.
  • Design reliable solutions across multiple services and databases.
  • Use AI tools to navigate complex codebases, accelerate development, and improve engineering workflows.
  • Own features end-to-end: analysis, implementation, testing, code review, and deployment.
  • Collaborate with the team on architecture decisions and continuous improvement.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience using AI coding assistants (Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar) as part of your daily development workflow.
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals:
    • architecture
    • API design
    • data modeling
    • asynchronous processing (queues, retries, idempotency)
    • testing and debugging
  • Professional experience with at least one modern backend ecosystem such as Python, Node.js, Go, Java, .NET, PHP, or similar.
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies and become productive in unfamiliar codebases.
  • Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Strong Docker and Docker Compose skills.
  • Experience with Git, code reviews, and collaborative development workflows.
  • Ability to evaluate AI-generated code, validate solutions, and take ownership of technical decisions.

Technology Stack:

Our platform is built with:

  • Backend: PHP 8.4+, Laravel 12, REST APIs, RabbitMQ, shared packages and reusable libraries
  • Databases: MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MariaDB, Redis
  • Frontend: Vue.js 2/3, Vite, Webpack, Vuex
  • Development & Quality: Docker & Docker Compose, Git, PHPStan, PSR Standards, automated testing, static analysis

You don't need experience with every technology listed above. Strong engineers from other ecosystems (Python, Node.js, Go, etc.) are welcome—we expect you to use AI tools and your engineering skills to ramp up quickly.

Nice to Have:

  • Previous experience with PHP/Laravel or Vue.js.
  • Experience with event-driven or microservices architecture.
  • Experience with ClickHouse or data pipelines.
  • Experience building shared libraries or reusable packages.
  • Experience with Cypress, Postman, AWS, or CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience creating AI development workflows, custom agent tools, or automation.
  • Experience working in healthcare, fintech, or other regulated industries.

We're looking for someone who:

  • Is comfortable working across multiple services and technologies.
  • Understands the impact of changes across shared components and systems.
  • Pays attention to reliability, backward compatibility, and side effects.
  • Reviews and validates AI-generated code before production.
  • Is curious, adaptable, and continuously learns new technologies.

What We Offer:

  • Remote-first with a travel twist: work from anywhere in Europe, with opportunities for business trips and conferences.
  • Great team culture: an international team focused on collaboration, ownership, and getting things done.
  • Time off: 18 days of paid vacation + 7 days of paid sick leave.
  • Equipment provided: everything you need to work effectively.
  • Cooperation via Deel: simple payments with multiple withdrawal options.
