You will work closely with Designers, Project Managers and other Engineers to build systems that people want to use and can rely upon. You recognize the importance of stability and uptime for web services and financial software systems. You are cautious and contemplative with architectural decisions, working alongside others to deliver secure, stable, and elegant solutions. You enjoy reviewing other team member’s work, and receiving constructive feedback as well. You treat security concerns as first class citizens, and will help coach others to understand industry best practices.

Required Education + Experience

  • 7+ years of full time programming experience in a group/team environment
  • Experience and proficiency making architectural decisions both in expanding existing projects and planning/implementing new systems
  • Significant experience with server-side web technologies (Examples: Unix/Linux, Golang, PHP, MySQL, MongoDB)
  • Networking and Network Security proficiency
  • Experience protecting against security risks such as XSS, SQL Injection, SSL, session hijacking
  • Experience, knowledge, and mindfulness of security best practices with server-side and client-side (e.g. Javascript) languages as well as industry standards
  • Hands-on experience with AWS or similar hosting providers
  • Experience writing technical documentation and proposals
  • Value collaboration, reviewing others work, mentoring others, as well as receiving constructive feedback
  • Able to navigate ambiguous requirements while prioritizing multiple projects, tasks, and bug fixes
  • Ability to mentor others, communicate complex technical requirements with clarity, and the ability to influence others' technical design decisions
  • Participate in the team’s on-call rotation as needed
  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science/Engineering, or equivalent experience

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Experience with Golang, Microservice architecture, NGINX, Redis, PHP
  • Extensive knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, AJAX, JSON, and cross-browser compatibility
  • Solid understanding of OAuth2 and Authentication protocols
  • Knowledge of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery
  • Knowledge of data security best practices related to PCI/DSS/CISP/SOC2
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker/Kubernetes)
  • Experience with AI-driven development agents (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor) and integrating LLMs into the SDLC to significantly accelerate engineering velocity.
  • Proficiency in prompt engineering and agent orchestration, with an ability to effectively review, debug, and refine code generated by agents.
  • Understanding of AI-native development patterns, including managing agent-specific context (e.g., CLAUDE.md), utilizing Model Context Protocol (MCP) integrations, and adhering to automated guardrails for security and code quality.
  • Strong product-design intuition to define requirements, oversee agent-led implementation, and maintain high code quality in a high-velocity, automated environment.
  • Familiar with Agile principles and Scrum

You are…

  • Efficient: You naturally have the ability to prioritize multiple projects and tasks
  • A Communicator: You have a knack for clear and concise communication
  • A Driver: You are smart, persistent, and not easily blocked
