Change.org is searching for a Social Outreach Associate to help local voices turn their influence into published candidate endorsements on Change.vote, our nonpartisan voter guide, ahead of the 2026 midterm elections. You will report to our Senior Product Marketing Manager, Christina O’Reilly. As a key member of our Change.vote Elections team, you’ll be the human voice of our endorser outreach: sending and personalizing messages, building real relationships, and guiding people to endorse the candidates they believe in so their neighbors can vote the whole ballot with confidence.

Every day, local voices on TikTok and other social platforms are already talking about the races and issues shaping their communities: housing, schools, public safety, the cost of living. Your job is to reach them and start real conversations. We source the creators and draft the opening messages, so your time goes to the part that matters most: personalizing where it counts, answering questions when someone replies, and guiding them toward publishing an endorsement on Change.vote. Success here is about consistency, warmth, and follow-through, showing up every day and helping people feel genuinely heard.

Key Outcomes:

  • Run consistent daily outreach using pre-sourced leads and pre-drafted messages, personalized where it counts
  • Convert conversations into published endorsements on Change.vote across our covered California and Florida races
  • Keep clean records of every touch (who you contacted, how they responded, and the outcome) so the team can improve messaging and measure what works
  • Flag creators with larger followings as potential paid partnership prospects and hand them off to our marketing team
  • Complete two weeks of paid onboarding in late September, then hold steady daily volume through Election Day on November 3, including peak weeks

The most important core competencies for the role are:

  • Warm, natural written communication in a casual social voice (DMs, not marketing copy)
  • Reliability and follow-through: consistent daily volume without close supervision
  • Empathy and strong people instincts: making strangers feel heard and moving conversations forward
  • Organization and tracking hygiene: logging outreach and responses accurately
  • Nonpartisan judgment and comfort engaging warmly with people across the political spectrum
  • AI experience needed: foundational, comfortable working with AI-drafted scripts and AI-assisted tools
  • Nice to have: bilingual (English and Spanish)

Target experience:

  • No specific background or credential is required; we value reliability, empathy, and people instincts over resumes
  • Experience in community management, social media, customer outreach, field organizing, or relational texting is a plus
  • Fluency with TikTok is required; comfort on other platforms like X and Instagram is a plus

This is an hourly contract role, up to 40 hrs/week, running from late September through the November 3, 2026 election, and starting with two weeks of paid onboarding. This role is remote within the United States.

Our compensation philosophy is based on pay equity. The hourly rate of a Social Outreach Associate is $43.85/hr for SF/NYC, $41.65/hr for LA/Boston/Austin/DC/Seattle/Chicago, and $37.27/hr for all other locations.
