We’re looking for a Senior Tax Analyst with expertise in U.S. sales and use tax and tax accounting to join our growing Finance team at StockX. You’ll be part of a collaborative Tax team that partners closely with Accounting, Finance, Legal, Product, Operations, and external advisors to support StockX’s expanding business. In this role, you will help manage supporting workpapers, indirect tax compliance and reconciliations, audit and notice responses, and tax-related process improvements across multiple jurisdictions. Your work will have direct impact by helping StockX stay compliant, reduce tax risk, and support informed business decision-making.

What you’ll do

  • Assist the Tax Manager with the preparation of supporting workpapers and submission of indirect tax filings for the United States, leveraging internal and external resources
  • Prepare, review, and maintain sales and use tax account reconciliations and other tax-related month-end close support
  • Assist with the annual financial statement process, including reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting schedules
  • Manage and support indirect tax audits, notices, IDRs, and controversy matters, including gathering documentation, performing reconciliations and analysis, coordinating responses, and maintaining audit trackers
  • Maintain recordkeeping for state sales tax filings, tax notices, audit documentation, and jurisdictional portal activity
  • Monitor state and local tax legislation for changes relevant to StockX, research the impact, and help drive implementation of necessary changes
  • Research and analyze domestic indirect tax implications of new business initiatives, and provide recommendations to mitigate tax exposure
  • Partner cross-functionally with business teams to support implementation of tax requirements for new products, processes, and operational changes
  • Support tax engine, systems, and process testing, including UAT and issue tracking tied to tax-related changes
  • Proactively monitor the accuracy of tax charges and system-calculated tax results, identify discrepancies through analysis and reconciliation, and partner with cross-functional teams to investigate root causes and implement solutions
  • Assist with registrations, annual compliance requirements, special projects, and ad hoc requests from business partners and external advisors

About you

  • 3+ years of relevant tax experience in a corporate environment; public accounting experience is a plus
  • Good understanding of multi-state sales and use tax regulations and indirect tax compliance processes
  • Experience with tax account reconciliations, workpapers, and month-end or quarter-end close support
  • Detail-oriented self-starter who takes ownership, manages multiple priorities, and thrives in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel with strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Must have skills

  • Strong experience in U.S. sales and use tax, including compliance, reconciliations, and audit support
  • Experience preparing supporting workpapers, maintaining tax records, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to research indirect tax issues and apply findings to business operations and compliance requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Experience working with large data sets and transaction-level information in Excel

Nice to have skills

  • Public accounting experience
  • Experience with Avalara or similar indirect tax technology platforms
  • Experience with Power BI
  • CPA or equivalent license preferred
