Senior Talent Sourcing Specialist

Edison Scientific builds and deploys AI scientist agents to accelerate science and the development of new medicines. The company is run by scientists and engineers from leading institutions across biology, physics, chemistry, and AI.

The role of Senior Talent Sourcing Specialist involves owning the top-of-funnel for one of the most innovative companies in AI. This position requires a strategic approach, as the conventional sourcing playbook doesn’t cover the breadth of roles at Edison.

You will be responsible for finding software engineers who can work on-site with pharma companies and ship production code, applied AI engineers building autonomous research agents, computational biologists who can bridge science and software, and scientists interested in the frontier of AI for drug discovery.

This is a sourcing and screening-first role. Your responsibilities include:

• Owning the top-of-funnel for critical roles such as AI engineering, applied science, computational biology, forward-deployed engineering, and GTM.
• Building and maintaining warm pipelines before roles are formally open, coordinating candidates through the process.
• Developing AI-first sourcing strategies that go beyond traditional methods, as the candidates needed are not always visible on standard platforms like LinkedIn.
• Running high-volume, high-quality screens to provide hiring managers with actionable signals quickly.
• Keeping candidates engaged and excited about Edison throughout the recruitment process.
• Partnering with hiring managers to ensure alignment on what constitutes top talent, pushing back when necessary, and moving swiftly when the right candidate is found.
• Using pipeline metrics and market data to identify gaps and inform adjustments.
• Advising the existing recruiting team and maintaining a strong candidate experience across all roles.
• Performing other project management, interview scheduling, and operational excellence duties as needed.

The ideal candidate will have:

• 2+ years of recruiting or sourcing experience with a focus on outbound pipeline generation.
• A track record of finding and engaging passive candidates and converting them.
• The ability to capture relevant data and use it for decision-making and influencing stakeholders.
• Strong instincts for talent assessment, quickly identifying who is worth pursuing and explaining why.
• Experience in fast-moving, early-stage environments where priorities and roles evolve rapidly.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills with candidates, being responsive, warm, clear, and someone candidates want to hear back from.
• An organized, metric-driven approach, tracking your own funnel to improve continuously.
• An entrepreneurial mindset, building solutions that don’t yet exist and not waiting for instructions.

Bonus points will be given for:

• Technical recruiting experience in AI, life sciences, biotech, computational biology, or scientific research environments.
• Familiarity with modern ATS platforms like Ashby and AI-first sourcing tools such as Juicebox and Gem.
• Startup experience and/or sourcing in a hyper-growth environment.
• Background experience supporting a full-cycle recruiting motion.

This role is ideally on-site at Edison’s San Francisco, New York, or Boston offices, though remote options are available for the right candidate. You will report to the Talent Acquisition Leader. This is a contract role with the potential for full-time conversion.
