Who We’re Looking For (Position Overview):
Spry Methods is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator / Data Platform SME to support the United States Marine Corps (USMC). This position supports the modernization, administration, and sustainment of a mission-critical leadership dashboard hosted within the Advana platform, utilizing Databricks and Qlik Sense to provide enterprise cybersecurity reporting and eMASS data visualization for senior leadership.
This role is ideal for a technical professional with expertise in enterprise data platforms, systems administration, dashboard development, and data engineering who enjoys building secure, scalable solutions that enable informed decision-making across large organizations.
What Your Day-To-Day Looks Like (Position Responsibilities):
- Administer, optimize, and sustain the Advana data platform supporting enterprise cybersecurity reporting and analytics.
- Design, develop, and maintain secure data ingestion pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and enterprise data models utilizing Databricks and Qlik Sense.
- Develop and enhance executive dashboards and visualizations that provide timely, accurate cybersecurity metrics and operational insights for Marine Corps leadership.
- Integrate and manage eMASS data through secure API connections while ensuring data quality, validation, governance, and compliance with DoD standards.
- Configure and administer Databricks environments, including PySpark, Spark SQL, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, and enterprise security controls.
- Develop advanced Qlik Sense applications utilizing load scripting, Set Analysis, custom extensions, and QMC administration.
- Design and implement enterprise data governance processes, metadata management, and standardized reporting solutions.
- Produce technical documentation including User Guides, SOPs, CONOPS, System Design Documentation (SDD), architecture diagrams, and operational procedures.
- Support knowledge transfer through documentation, training, and collaboration with government personnel.
- Collaborate with government stakeholders to gather requirements, resolve technical challenges, and continuously improve platform performance, security, and usability.
What You Need to Succeed (Minimum Requirements):
- Active DoD Secret Clearance.
- Current DoD 8570/8140 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II certification (Security+, SSCP, GSEC, CCNA Security, or equivalent).
- Experience supporting enterprise systems within DoD or Federal environments.
- Hands-on experience with the Advana platform and its integrated data and analytics capabilities.
- Advanced experience with Databricks, including PySpark, Spark SQL, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, and enterprise data governance.
- Extensive experience developing and administering Qlik Sense solutions, including dashboard development, scripting, QMC administration, and security configuration.
- Experience integrating REST APIs and working with Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) data.
- Expert SQL skills with experience designing relational databases, dimensional data models, and enterprise ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Strong understanding of enterprise data governance, cybersecurity reporting, and secure data management practices.
- Experience developing technical documentation and providing operational knowledge transfer.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.
Ideally, You Also Have (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience supporting Marine Corps or Department of Defense cybersecurity programs.
- Familiarity with Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes and cybersecurity data reporting.
- Experience developing executive-level dashboards and enterprise analytics solutions.
- Experience working with Git or other version control platforms.
- Experience supporting enterprise cloud and data modernization initiatives.
