About Rerun
At Rerun, we're building a new multimodal data stack for Physical AI. Large parts of the physical-world economy will be transformed by these technologies, and we're building the data infrastructure and tools that enable it.
Rerun's open-source project focuses on visualizing and handling multimodal logs, and is already loved by some of the best teams in the world. A lot of these teams are sitting on petabytes of robot data, far more than any local tool can handle, so we also built Rerun Hub, a database purpose-built for querying and visualizing across the whole archive.
We're an open-core company. The viewer and SDKs are open-source and stay that way, so a large part of what you build with us directly benefits the Rerun community, whether that's robotics, AR/VR, autonomous systems, or more. The rest connects that open-source layer to infrastructure operating at a very different scale.
The Role
What you'll work on:
- Build and evolve the Rerun viewer and cross-language SDKs, handling large volumes of 2D, 3D, time-series, and statistical data in real time.
- Integrate the viewer seamlessly with Rerun Hub, so users can work with data far larger than their machine without it feeling that way.
- Make technology and architecture decisions that reach across the full stack, and keep the system maintainable as the volume of data flowing through it grows.
- Work closely with the Hub, backend, and design teams. A lot of the interesting problems live between those boundaries, so reaching a good compromise quickly matters.
- Profile and optimize user workflows across desktop platforms and the web.
- Contribute to downstream open-source projects when that's what it takes to make progress.
- Work directly with the people using Rerun, from the open-source community to our customers running it on very large datasets, and help them get great results.
Requirements
We would love if you have:
- Strong programming skills in Rust or another compiled language. You'll need to be fluent enough to read and work in our Rust codebase, but you don't need years of production Rust behind you.
- A generalist with UI skills. You'll move between the interface, rendering, data handling, and infrastructure rather than staying in one lane, so we need people who can build interfaces that feel good to use.
- Experience with interactive data visualization, particularly large datasets and complex visual structures.
- Experience building real-time, high-performance applications.
- Comfort with ambiguity. We're small and move fast, so we need people who find the problem, make a call, and tell everyone, rather than waiting to be told what to do.
- Great communication skills in English. You'll be working with the community as well as your team.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience contributing to or maintaining open-source projects, especially ones with a real community around them.
- A background in something close to what we do: robotics (RViz is a big plus), simulation, streaming, rendering, or game engines.
- Knowledge of GPU rendering pipelines like wgpu, and how to get performance out of them.
Company Culture
How we work at Rerun:
- We're a remote company headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden.
- We meet up in person for a week roughly once a quarter.
- The team you'll join has members in European and US-east timezones. Everyone is available for synchronous work between 1:30 and 5:00 PM CET. Given our current team distribution, candidates outside Europe or the US will be considered case by case, to make sure there's enough overlap for effective collaboration.
- We've put together an uncommonly talented tech team, value agency and helpfulness highly, and expect everyone to take broad responsibility for what they build.
- We offer competitive cash and equity compensation, six weeks paid vacation, and whatever hardware and software you need to do your job.
Most of all, we hope you're excited to build some really cool technology that will have a real impact on the world with us.
If you find that you don't fit neatly into this or any of the other open roles, we're not that rigid and are generally looking for great developers who can contribute to what we're building. Just go ahead and apply to the one you think is the closest, and we'll take it from there.

Rerun
View Company ProfileRerun (operating at rerun.io) is a data visualization platform engineered for physical AI teams. Founded in 2022 by Nikolaus West, Emil Ernerfeldt, and Moritz Schiebold, and headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, Rerun bridges the gap between raw multimodal data and actionable insights. Unlike traditional tools like ROS rosbags, which are niche to robotics, Rerun offers a unified data layer for visualizing complex, time-series data—including 2D/3D imagery, text, tensors, and time-series metrics—across computer vision, robotics, and autonomous systems. Under the hood, its SDK enables real-time ingestion, querying, and streaming of multi-rate datasets, allowing engineers to debug, review, and extend workflows with custom annotations. This empowers researchers and developers to iterate faster on physical AI projects, from fleet logs to human-data rigs, while reducing the friction of disparate data sources. Backed by a privately held structure, Rerun’s revenue reached $7.5M in annual recurring revenue (ARR) as of 2025, reflecting its growing adoption in AI infrastructure.
