Senior Software Engineer (PostgreSQL & Java Spring Boot) at Chainalysis

We are building the foundational data platform for blockchain, cryptocurrency, and web3, and we’re seeking a Senior Software Engineer with expertise in PostgreSQL and Java Spring Boot to drive high-impact projects at scale.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own and enhance our data ingest Java service for enriched transfers, ensuring generation and aggregation.
• Design and optimize PostgreSQL transaction batching, indexing, and replication strategies for high-throughput workloads.
• Contribute to next-gen architecture by evaluating cutting-edge technologies, running proof-of-concepts (PoCs), benchmarking latency, and writing ADRs for production deployment.
• Build and maintain scalable API services on AWS capable of handling thousands of requests per second.
• Automate network onboarding end-to-end.
• Debug production issues across microservices, define SLOs, and participate in on-call rotations.
• Integrate LLM-based tools into daily workflows, enabling agentic automation for tasks like incident triage, self-healing pipelines, and intelligent alerting.

Required Qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience with PostgreSQL in production, including schema design, query optimization, partitioning, replication, and performance tuning under write-heavy, high-throughput workloads.
• 8+ years of experience building Java Spring Boot services, including REST APIs, JDBC, connection pooling, and JVM performance profiling.
• Experience with Kafka or equivalent streaming systems, covering consumer groups, offset management, and partition lag debugging.
• Proven track record operating distributed systems on AWS, including microservices, multi-silo deployments, and Terraform.
• Strong cross-system debugging skills, from tracing serving delays in Datadog metrics to Humio logs and code paths.
• Comfort with AI-assisted development and agentic engineering practices.
• A bias toward shipping and iterating alongside product and design partners.
• Passion for scaling large data systems significantly.
