About the Client Company via Pronexus: Pronexus is a premier, internationally recognized technical talent advisor, recruitment innovator, and workforce optimization leader sourcing on behalf of a hyper-growth, venture-backed digital health pioneer and clinical solutions provider. On an absolute mission to simplify how patients navigate modern healthcare, our client builds advanced, compassionate software systems that optimize medical onboarding, mental health triage, and employer benefits utilization. Operating a fast-paced, high-velocity startup infrastructure, the company focuses heavily on tangible patient outcomes, engineering excellence, and cross-functional product iteration. They provide high-agency full-stack developers with an uncompromised remote canvas to leverage cloud microservices, manipulate encrypted health data records, and deploy lovable, secure user journeys safely across the United States.
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly analytical, product-minded Senior Software Engineer to join our client’s core centralized Care Journey team in a full-time remote capacity across the United States (excluding Hawaii). Operating as a key individual contributor (IC) who leans heavily backend-focused but codes confidently across the entire tech stack, you will step up to claim individual strategic operational accountability for owning the software modules users encounter during their first platform engagements. Moving completely past monotone legacy CRUD scripts or unoptimized web modifications, you will act as a principal application architect—partnering closely with product managers and digital designers to transform business needs into scalable, high-performance technical systems. This position requires a software veteran with 3+ years of commercial full-stack history who programs application programming interfaces (APIs) fluidly natively using Python frameworks, designs interactive user-facing components smoothly natively using Backend extensions, and structures relational databases confidently inside PostgreSQL architectures.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-End Product Feature Engineering: Design, code, deploy, and iterate on highly performant end-to-end product feature blocks that power the core digital Care Journey experience natively utilizing Python web frameworks.
- Multi-Protocol API Architecture Development: Build, secure, and maintain robust, low-friction application programming interfaces and service-to-service data pipelines natively leveraging Backend protocols (specifically prioritizing REST and GraphQL arrays).
- Responsive User Interface Curation: Build, audit, and refine frontend components and state-driven modules in React, ensuring high graphic performance, absolute usability, and clean user experience paths.
- PostgreSQL Relational Data Modeling: Model, manage, and scale relational application data rows within PostgreSQL database engines, enforcing clean, well-structured, and optimized index schemas.
- Technical Design Discussion Leadership: Formulate detailed technical design documentation, lead architectural alignment discussions, and shape pragmatic solutions optimized to balance technical debt with delivery speed.
- Cross-Functional Strategic Alignment: Partner in lockstep with distributed Product Managers (PMs) and Product Designers to translate abstract business rules into secure, user-centric healthcare solutions.
- Team-Wide Engineering Mentorship: Conduct rigorous, supportive peer-led code reviews, mentor junior and mid-level software developers, and foster a strong, outcome-driven product mindset across the development group.
- Cloud Deployment and Integrity Governance: Enforce rigid code quality and testing practices across multi-tenant AWS cloud networks, maintaining clear documentation for future architectural references.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 years of verified professional history running advanced full-stack software development, distributed systems programming, backend engineering, cloud SaaS implementation, or HealthTech technical consulting.
- Demonstrated experience building, launching, and scaling high-volume, user-facing digital applications from initial code layout through to commercial production release.
- Deep, authoritative technical command of modern system design patterns, relational database modeling, network protocols, server concurrency, and service-to-service data contract routing.
- Expert-tier capability coding server-side logic loops, creating relational data matrices, and managing data pipelines natively utilizing Python toolsets.
- Practical operational familiarity designing responsive client-side visual layers, managing state engines, and querying data endpoints natively using Backend and frontend models (specifically requiring strong hands-on React fluency).
- Proven baseline competency manipulating PostgreSQL database instances, optimizing raw query configurations, and building web architectures within modern enterprise cloud networks (specifically AWS).
- Outstanding verbal, written, and document communication traits in business-fluent English, enabling uncompromised clarity when presenting technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and business context to engineers.
- Location Context: Position open exclusively to qualified full-stack software engineers base-stationed permanently and resident within the United States (100% remote work-from-home layout, explicitly excluding Hawaii-based candidates).
Preferred Strategic Indicators (Nice to Have)
- Prior commercial software engineering history operating explicitly within a venture capital (VC)-backed startup or hyper-growth stage environment.
- Direct hands-on development experience inside the healthcare tech, digital therapeutics, mental health routing, medical billing SaaS, or employee benefits platform sectors.
- An outcome-driven personal philosophy rooted in high technical curiosity, a self-managing execution velocity, and an intense passion for building reliable software systems that directly optimize human wellness and care accessibility.
What We Offer
- Venture-Calibrated United States Salaried Blueprint: A highly competitive full-time base salary package calibrated precisely to evaluate your full-stack engineering authority, programming craftsmanship, and healthcare data velocity.
- The exceptional professional canvas to directly direct, shape, and code-engineer the core digital interfaces power-routing health access for thousands of members.
- Profound work-from-home remote parameters offering a 100% virtual framework across America, complete scheduling trust, and zero physical geographic office commuting friction.
- Access to elite cross-functional technical exposure, working alongside industry-leading product managers, visual designers, and systems architects inside an incredibly collaborative, delivery-focused startup culture.
