You will partner with Business Analysts to assess design gaps and surface functionality improvements, delivering Java and JavaScript-based solutions that align with technical design specifications and evolving stakeholder needs. Day-to-day work spans building RESTful APIs, executing unit tests, and leveraging Splunk to monitor and troubleshoot complex multi-environment systems. Your contributions directly support the stability and quality of software platforms that serve the people who depend on them.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and configure software components in alignment with technical design specifications and project requirements.
- Build Java/Scala-based RESTful APIs that address functional requirements and support scalable system performance.
- Partner with Business Analysts to identify design gaps and recommend improvements to system functionality.
- Produce effort estimates for new features, enhancements, and change requests to inform project planning and delivery timelines.
- Create and execute unit tests for developed components, ensuring code quality and adherence to design standards.
- Troubleshoot defects and operational issues across development, staging, and production environments to maintain system reliability.
- Apply knowledge of technologies, methodologies, and tools to support project delivery goals and contribute to continuous improvement.
Required Experience
- Hands-on experience developing enterprise-grade software using Java and JavaScript.
- Practical knowledge of designing and consuming RESTful APIs, including API integration and data exchange patterns.
- Familiarity with Scala in a backend or service-oriented development context.
- Experience using Splunk for log analysis, monitoring, and performance troubleshooting across multi-environment systems.
- Demonstrated ability to write and execute unit tests, with an understanding of software testing best practices.
- Skill in diagnosing and resolving defects across multiple deployment environments, including production.
- Ability to translate technical designs into quality software solutions with strong attention to detail.
- Comfortable working independently and as an effective contributor within a collaborative development team.
- Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a project-driven environment.
- Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
- Candidates must have lived in the United States for 3 out of the past 5 years.
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
