Unstoppable starts with people. The future of payments is being built today, and at Paymentology, we are looking for people who want to help shape it. We power card issuing for leading banks, fintechs, and digital brands across the globe, and as we continue to grow, we are looking for curious, ambitious people who thrive on solving complex challenges, embrace innovation, and want to make a tangible impact at a global scale.

Our Engineering culture values autonomy, excellence, ownership, and curiosity. We encourage engineers to lead solutions end-to-end, mentor others, and continuously improve how we build and operate software. If you’re excited by solving complex global payments challenges and enjoy working with smart, kind, mission-driven people, this is the place for you.

What you get to do

We’re looking for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer based in the APAC region to build and operate the software, automation, and infrastructure that keep our global payments services reliable, scalable, observable, and resilient. You’ll own complex reliability improvements in your domain, guide product teams, and turn production experience into lasting engineering improvements.

  • Design, build, and operate reliable software, cloud infrastructure, and reusable automation.

  • Own reliability improvements end-to-end, from investigation and design through delivery and follow-up.

  • Identify recurring operational problems and deliver durable solutions that improve reliability, scalability, and performance.

  • Contribute to design and code reviews, raising reliability, security, and operability risks early.

  • Improve metrics, logs, traces, alerts, deployment safeguards, and recovery automation.

  • Partner with product engineering teams to improve service health and adopt safe self-service capabilities.

  • Participate in the 24/7 on-call rotation for business-critical services and lead technical response in your area.

  • Lead or contribute to incident reviews and complete follow-up actions that reduce recurrence and impact.

  • Share knowledge, improve runbooks, and mentor engineers in reliability practices.

  • Automate client onboarding, deployments, and disaster recovery execution.

Requirements: Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering or a closely related role.

  • Strong understanding of cloud networking, distributed systems, and service architecture.

  • Experience writing tested, maintainable production code in Python, Go, Java, Kotlin, Scala, or a comparable language.

  • Hands-on experience with AWS, Docker, GitHub Actions, Terraform, and Kubernetes, ECS, or EKS.

  • Experience with observability, CI/CD, production automation, and infrastructure as code.

  • Understanding of cloud security and identity management, including AWS IAM and Active Directory.

  • Experience applying SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs to assess service health and guide engineering priorities.

  • Ability to troubleshoot complex systems and turn operational problems into maintainable software or automation.

  • A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

  • Most importantly, a desire to learn, grow, and collaborate with a thoughtful engineering team.

What you can look forward to

  • Remote role with a distributed team across multiple time zones but you will be covering APAC primarily.

  • Work closely with engineering teams on services that support global payments.

  • Meaningful ownership of reliability improvements from discovery through production.

  • Support for your ongoing career growth and development.

  • A diverse, collaborative, mission-driven engineering culture.
