Your role

ShareGate has built a PR strategy that is becoming a real competitive advantage in AI search, the channel where buyers increasingly discover and vet migration and governance tools. This role owns the earned side of that strategy and keeps its momentum going through a 12-month maternity leave.

This is a senior individual-contributor role. You will own the model day to day, direct external agencies, and advise GTM on where to invest, rather than waiting to be told what to execute.

The role is focused on ShareGate, with occasional support to broader Workleap corporate communications initiatives such as award submissions (for example, Best Managed Companies).

Your impact:

  • Media relations. Run and optimize the earned-press engine, keeping it pointed at competitive gaps and at plays that improve how LLMs perceive ShareGate. This covers press releases, executive bylines, story pitching, interview coordination, media inquiries, and the byline pipeline. You brief ShareGate's external PR agencies, review their output for quality, and hold them accountable to shared KPIs.
  • Executive thought leadership and internal alignment. You lead the executive thought leadership program for ShareGate: deciding which leaders speak on what and when, coaching spokespeople, and having the judgment to decline opportunities that do not serve the company narrative.
  • Creator strategy. Identify the creator targets with the most potential to move AI-search visibility across blogs, YouTube, LinkedIn, and social. Advise GTM on where to focus, measure each creator's impact, and help shape the pitches to land them.
  • Monitor, optimize and protect. You monitor and analyze coverage on an ongoing basis, including ShareGate's visibility in AI-generated answers (AEO) alongside traditional coverage and share of voice.
  • Employer brand. Apply the same earned-media muscle to Workleap's talent brand in Quebec and Canada, supporting the Corporate and People teams.

Your team

As the voice of earned engine, you sit within a four-person team in marketing. PR lives right next to content, because good stories and good coverage should never be strangers. In this team, we own the strategy instead of waiting for direction, show up with recommendations instead of open questions, and use AI like an actual teammate. We move quickly, feedback is direct and constructive, wins get shared out loud, and we retro on how we work, not just what we ship. If you like autonomy, a real seat at the table, and a fast, candid room where every voice counts, you'll feel right at home.

The dividing line: PR owns the earned strategy, Content owns the owned strategy, Lifecycle owns communities. GTM decides where to go based on your recommendations.

What you'll bring

  • Proven experience developing and executing communication strategies across earned channels, ideally in tech or B2B;
  • Strong writing and editing across formats, from press releases to executive messaging, able to produce clear, compelling content with a point of view;
  • Established media relationships and hands-on experience pitching stories, coordinating interviews, and managing media inquiries, plus experience managing external PR agency partners;
  • Comfort managing and coaching executive spokespeople, with the judgment to know when an opportunity does or does not serve the narrative;
  • A strategic instinct for creator and influencer programs, and a genuine interest in using PR to shape how ShareGate gets surfaced through LLMs;
  • A natural relationship builder who earns trust fast, with media contacts, external agencies, executive spokespeople, and internal stakeholders alike;
  • Genuine eagerness to learn a highly technical product and the Microsoft 365 ecosystem quickly. You do not need to be an M365 expert on day one, but you are the kind of person who digs in, asks sharp questions, and gets fluent enough to pitch it credibly fast;
  • Self-directed and quick to ramp: you can absorb a strategy during a short overlap and run it independently;
  • Bonus: familiarity with the Quebec market and French language proficiency.
