The Opportunity

As a Senior Product Counsel on the Product Legal Team, you will:

  • Serve as the “mini-GC” for a high-growth business unit, acting as the primary legal point of contact for a broad range of legal issues. Operate autonomously to triage incoming issues, resolve those within your expertise, and escalate or route complex issues to the appropriate teams and specialists.
  • Be the go-to counsel and partner for several teams focused on building Superhuman’s next generation of agents, products, and features.
  • Advise stakeholders like Product, Design, Marketing, and Engineering teams throughout the product life cycle, from ideation to launch and beyond.
  • Streamline, simplify, and serve as an ambassador for legal topics and reviews.
  • Identify and address product, regulatory, privacy, and other legal risks and mitigations, specifically as they relate to our AI agents and products.
  • Develop strategies for handling legal issues in creative ways and build processes for scaling flexible solutions that address risk.
  • Monitor evolving legal and regulatory developments in AI and SaaS; provide guidance to internal stakeholders.
  • Become an expert in AI legal matters and help scale compliance with AI regulations.
  • Own and operate aspects of our intellectual property portfolio.
  • Develop and deliver training on relevant topics.

Qualifications

  • JD from an accredited law school; admitted and in good standing in at least your local jurisdiction.
  • 7+ years of relevant legal experience, including a mix of large and small B2B SaaS or technology companies, plus some time at a top law firm.
  • Strong understanding of relevant areas of law, such as intellectual property, AI governance, and data privacy laws.
  • A history of developing a culture of getting to “yes, if…”.
  • Comfort with ambiguity, a mindset for creative problem-solving, and the ability to learn new things quickly.
  • A team player who leads with humility and a healthy sense of humor.
  • Strong cross-functional communication and stakeholder-management skills. You create and maintain “neural networks” across the organization and are comfortable communicating in a way that’s tailored to different audiences.
  • You’ve seen legal functions grow at many points of scale, and have pattern recognition around best practices. Bonus points if you’re already using our products to get things done!
  • Has a demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal guidance, proactively manages tasks and priorities across multiple projects, analyzes and executes work efficiently, collaborates effectively with cross-functional teams, and thrives in fast-paced, results-driven environments.
