Position Overview
We are seeking a highly sophisticated, commercially minded Senior Procurement Officer to join our core global Infrastructure Sourcing division in a full-time remote capacity within the United States. In this high-stakes technical sourcing seat, you will claim individual accountability for leading the strategic sourcing and high-level negotiation efforts required to scale our rapidly expanding cloud footprint. Moving entirely away from standard corporate SaaS software or desktop IT equipment orders, you will manage tens to hundreds of millions of dollars of infrastructure capital, requiring an exceptionally high bar for legal and financial acumen. This high-agency role demands a seasoned deal negotiator who is embedded within our active Engineering and Finance cells, ensuring our supply chain bottlenecks are resolved rapidly to support aggressive production deployment timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Complex Contract Negotiation: Lead end-to-end commercial negotiations for intricate, high-value cloud contracts, prioritizing optimal payment terms and strategically balancing costs against corporate cash flows.
- Strategic Infrastructure Sourcing: Direct and manage relationships with critical data center suppliers, network providers, and hardware vendors, ensuring RunPod secures elite transaction rules and credit discounting allocations.
- Legal Liaison & Advisory: Act as the primary technical bridge between global procurement and corporate Legal counsel, reviewing complex contract clauses and translating engineering needs into sound legal frameworks.
- Financial Analytics & FP&A: Conduct rigorous financial modeling, expense forecasting, and vendor proposal triage to drive continuous cost improvements without sacrificing product quality or model deployment speed.
- Engineering Product Alignment: Embed seamlessly inside core Engineering squads, gathering granular hardware specs and translating performance requirements into actionable procurement strategies.
- Supply Chain Risk Mitigation: Isolate, analyze, and troubleshoot unexpected supply chain bottlenecks and vendor dynamics to insulate RunPod from data center hardware scarcity or infrastructure downtime.
- Asynchronous Process Documentation: Author, standardize, and maintain detailed documentation regarding hardware inventory costs, pricing matrices, and standardization rules across a remote-first, Slack-driven company ecosystem.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proven, hands-on professional history running advanced infrastructure procurement, corporate strategic sourcing, technology contract negotiation, or enterprise supply chain management.
- Demonstrated experience drafting and finalizing complex, enterprise-level commercial agreements, specifically managing high-value capital expenditure distributions.
- Deep financial literacy and commercial acumen, with a thorough understanding of how to optimize payment schedules, review cost structures against cash flow, and maximize value through credit discounting options.
- Strong working-level familiarity navigating contract law frameworks and reviewing complex legal jargon independently.
- Strong quantitative analysis skills, demonstrating a high comfort level executing basic FP&A models, vendor asset reviews, and data tracking inside Spreadsheets (Excel/Google Sheets).
- Outstanding verbal and written communication mechanics, with an absolute capacity to present complex financial trade-offs and deal strategies clearly to cross-functional executives.
- Visa Constraint: Must be eligible to work in the United States without requiring current or future corporate employment visa sponsorship.
- Location Context: Full-time remote parameters open exclusively to qualified technical procurement specialists permanently based anywhere within the United States to execute from home.
