About Taekus: Taekus is a premier, internationally recognized financial technology pioneer, luxury travel rewards innovator, and premium banking platform leader on an absolute mission to redefine the super-premium financial services market. Operating as a lean, elite startup collective of under 20 employees, Taekus manages more than $3B annually in transactional volumes and generates a highly profitable $70M in recurring annual revenues. By building next-generation banking ecosystems, debit card networks, and rewards card frameworks tailored precisely for the affluent market segment, the organization drives financial engineering far beyond the baseline models established decades ago. Taekus operates a high-autonomy remote workspace built on continuous execution and technical leadership. The firm gives systems craftsmen an uncompromised remote canvas to establish robust core architectures and deploy secure banking integrations safely worldwide.

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly analytical, systems-minded Senior Platform & Security Engineer to join our core centralized Engineering division in a full-time remote capacity across the United States. In this highly critical standalone platform engineering seat, you will step up to claim individual strategic accountability for owning and defining the infrastructure, site reliability, and cloud defenses that everything we build runs on. Shifting completely away from routine script execution or passive server monitoring, you will treat internal developers as your direct customer base—building the paved-road tooling and self-service workflows that let software cells ship applications quickly and safely. This role requires an infrastructure veteran with 6+ years of professional experience who orchestrates containerized Kubernetes environments fluidly, reads and contributes to Python/Django backend engines smoothly, and automates stringent financial-grade regulatory audits under tight timeline constraints.

Key Responsibilities

  • Platform and Infrastructure Unification: Centralize, govern, and scale the distributed cloud platform that powers our high-transaction premium banking and travel rewards ecosystems.
  • Developer Experience Tooling Construction: Design, build, and deploy automated paved roads, self-service infrastructure blueprints, and deployment utilities natively utilizing DevOps build automation models.
  • CI/CD and Release Automation Governance: Command the end-to-end continuous integration and continuous delivery tracks, keeping the path to production fast, reliable, and observable.
  • Queue and Cache Infrastructure Triage: Own and manage configuration variables, feature flags, secrets registries, and background event-driven message queues explicitly utilizing Celery, Redis, and RabbitMQ.
  • Strict FinTech Security Guardrails Enforcement: Establish and audit strict defensive boundaries natively leveraging Cybersecurity parameters, controlling IAM policies, data access matrices, and vulnerability discovery pipelines.
  • Automated Compliance and Audit Readiness: Coordinate external auditors to run repeatable, automated compliance reviews, ensuring uncompromised platform adherence to PCI-DSS and SOC 2 data-handling protocols.
  • Cloud Observability and Metrics Curation: Construct a comprehensive telemetry strategy across all live environments, leveraging structured logging, exception monitoring, and advanced APM engines while sharing in the platform on-call rotation.
  • Infrastructure-as-Code Strategic Direction: Drive the technical roadmap away from manual server configurations and toward declarative, fully version-controlled cloud infrastructure code bases using Terraform modules.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 6+ years of verified professional history running advanced platform engineering, cloud infrastructure architecture, release management, systems administration, or full-stack backend software development.
  • Deep, authoritative technical command of Amazon Web Services (AWS) topologies, with extensive hands-on experience configuring high-availability production nodes across EKS/Kubernetes, EC2, Lambda, and RDS.
  • Expert-tier software proficiency containerizing multi-tenant microservices, executing infrastructure-as-code files, and optimizing deployment paths natively utilizing DevOps workflows (including Terraform and Docker registries).
  • Practical command of object-oriented backend languages, displaying a proven ability to confidently read, debug, and contribute code modifications natively using Cybersecurity hygiene parameters inside a Python/Django and PostgreSQL codebase.
  • Production-tested background automating financial-grade security layers, handling encrypted access control tokens, and implementing secrets management utilities in a strictly audited PCI-DSS or SOC 2 space.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication traits in fluent English, with an absolute capacity to influence strategic technical direction and collaborate across distributed product divisions.
  • Interview Travel Requirement: Absolute readiness and capability to travel to target corporate centers (San Francisco, New York, Chicago, or Austin) for paid, in-person final stage onsite interview blocks.
  • Location Context: Position open exclusively to qualified platform specialists based permanently and resident within the **United States** to execute infrastructure operations under a 100% remote layout.

Preferred Strategic Indicators (Nice to Have)

  • Prior commercial infrastructure or security history operating within a fast-scaling consumer financial technology startup, electronic payment processor, or transactional travel rewards portal.
  • A formal university Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution specializing in Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent quantitative science discipline.
  • An outcome-driven personal philosophy that would rather build automated code systems than grind through compliance work by hand, thrives inside exponential growth models, and possesses an innate passion for travel.

What We Offer

  • High-Yield U.S. Salaried Baseline: An attractive full-time base salary scale structured transparently between $175,000 – $230,000 USD per year, calibrated precisely to evaluate and reward your platform authority and security execution velocity, supplemented by corporate **Equity** options.
  • The exceptional professional canvas to directly direct, code-shape, and deploy the core infrastructure and cloud guardrails power-routing automated transactions for a $3B luxury financial powerhouse.
  • Profound work-from-home remote parameters offering an elite distributed workplace setup, complete scheduling trust, and zero physical office geographical commuting friction across America.
  • Immediate eligibility to enroll in comprehensive premium protection benefits, including world-class Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance plans.
  • Access to an outstanding investment retirement safety net, featuring a **401(k) plan backed by a generous 5% company match** option.
  • Generous lifestyle calibration perks, featuring a completely flexible vacation policy combined with fully company-funded travel accommodations for required onsite interview evaluations.
