Senior Platform Engineer

Recorded Future is seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Platform Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Deployment (CD), Kubernetes, developer toolsets, and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) best practices. This role requires a strong understanding of modern Platform Engineering tools and practices, as well as a commitment to fostering a responsive, communicative, and collaborative environment. This is a role and team that enables Engineering to operate and build at the scale and pace of the ever-changing Security Threat Landscape.

You will be curious, collaborative, and build with existing tools while working with the team to identify new approaches, technologies (including AI-related capabilities) to allow your team and others to increase velocity and impact.

What You'll Do:

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to ensure efficient and reliable software delivery.
• Develop and manage infrastructure as code using Terraform.
• Deploy, manage, and monitor containerized applications using Kubernetes.
• Support the development and management of production Kubernetes clusters in a cloud environment (AWS preferred).
• Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure in AWS to support scalable and secure applications.
• Administer and optimize source code repositories and workflows in GitHub.
• Collaborate with development teams to enhance developer toolsets and streamline SDLC processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and application issues.
• Implement best practices for security, reliability, and performance.
• Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions.

What You'll Bring:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in a platform engineering or similar role.
• Proficiency in Golang or Python for scripting and automation.
• Proven experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code.
• Proven knowledge of Kubernetes for container orchestration and experience with ArgoCD.
• Hands-on experience with GitHub for version control and collaboration.
• Proven experience with AWS cloud services.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Good networking knowledge.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with GitHub runners and other CI/CD tools and platforms.
• Familiarity with programming languages such as Go, Python, or Java in the context of CI/CD.
• Knowledge of security best practices in cloud environments.
• Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, ELK, and Grafana stacks.
• Experience in networking and Linux.
• Certification in AWS or Kubernetes and experience with Backstage is a plus.
• Experience with kOps is a plus.
• Knowledge of Cilium CNI is a plus.
