Position Overview
We are seeking a highly analytical, systems-minded Senior Network Support Engineer to join our core centralized Operations collective in a full-time hybrid-remote capacity across the United Kingdom. Operating as the definitive technical lead for network faults and major enterprise incidents, you will step up to claim individual strategic and operational accountability for the end-to-end technical delivery of complex client projects. Shifting completely away from monotone hardware racking or basic localized desktop troubleshooting, you will operate as a principal infrastructure architect—partnering peer-to-peer with internal Project Managers, Technical Account Managers, and multi-tenant engineering cells to keep large-scale networks stable. This position requires an enterprise networking veteran who configures dynamic wide-area data paths fluidly natively using DevOps automation mindsets, hardens cloud-managed perimeters smoothly natively using Cybersecurity control parameters, and maintains structural network documentation confidently.
Key Responsibilities
- Enterprise Project Technical Delivery: Oversee, architect, and execute the comprehensive technical lifecycle of large-scale customer network expansion projects from initial staging models to live commercial rollout natively utilizing DevOps best practices.
- High-Pressure Tier 3 Fault Triage: Act as the ultimate technical escalation anchor during major network outages, link dropouts, and critical war-room events, leveraging high-fidelity diagnostic data to compress resolution latency.
- Multi-Tenant SD-WAN Infrastructure Governance: Build, monitor, and optimize highly performant software-defined wide area network clusters, managing data flow routes and tunnel policies natively leveraging Cybersecurity tools (specifically utilizing Meraki, Fortinet, and Viptela platforms).
- LAN and WLAN Deployment Optimization: Configure, test, and troubleshoot enterprise-grade local and wireless area architectures across complex multi-site office setups using Cisco and Meraki switching and routing matrices.
- Next-Generation Edge Hardening: Enforce rigid security-by-design requirements at the customer edge, engineering firewall rules, proxy settings, and intent filtering definitions using Fortinet and Cisco Firepower appliances.
- Change Window and Out-of-Hours Execution: Plan, document, and coordinate high-risk scheduled out-of-hours maintenance change windows to execute systemic network upgrades with minimal disruption to client operational uptimes.
- Granular Technical Topology Documentation: Write, refine, and preserve accurate, scannable network engineering Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), physical and logical topology maps, and diagnostic runbooks.
- Cross-Functional Strategic Coordination: Collaborate closely with distributed project managers, account managers, and field technicians, providing the deep technical depth needed to guarantee high-quality client project handoffs.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proven professional history running advanced enterprise network support engineering, systems infrastructure administration, telecom operations consulting, wide-area network design, or technical pre-sales implementation.
- Deep, authoritative technical command of network routing protocols, software-defined clustering, packet sniffing, data-plane prioritization, switching architectures, and wireless controller configurations.
- Expert-tier capability tracing high-pressure analytical network failures, isolating hardware routing loops, and auditing system uptimes natively utilizing DevOps orchestration diagnostics.
- Practical operational familiarity implementing robust edge access controls, tracking configuration drift, and monitoring multi-tier networks natively using Cybersecurity platforms (specifically requiring hands-on fluency in Meraki, Fortinet, Viptela, Cisco, or Firepower software environments).
- Mandatory Field Requirement: Possession of a fully valid, clean UK Driving License, enabling independent travel to customer physical properties and remote server sites for hardware deployment loops.
- Demonstrated experience successfully diagnosing and managing intricate, large-scale network and security events for top-tier enterprise clients.
- Outstanding verbal, written, and project documentation traits in business-fluent English, enabling uncompromised clarity when leading structural code and configuration reviews across remote frameworks.
- Location Context and Work Format: Position structured as a hybrid-remote contract open exclusively to qualified engineers resident within the **United Kingdom**. Requires the ability to travel 2 days a week to your nearest designated regional Focus Group office, paired with occasional travel to external customer data facilities.
Preferred Strategic Indicators (Nice to Have)
- Prior commercial network engineering history operating explicitly within an enterprise managed service provider (MSP), telecommunications carrier hub, high-volume cloud hosting architecture, or multi-tenant SaaS data infrastructure.
- Possession of industry-vetted professional credentials (such as Cisco CCNP/CCIE, Fortinet NSE 4-7, or Meraki Solutions Design certifications).
- An outcome-driven personal philosophy rooted in high technical curiosity, a passion for embracing cutting-edge cloud technologies, and an intense drive to become a leading subject-matter expert in advanced cloud network design.
What We Offer
- Calibrated UK Unicorn Salaried Structure: A highly competitive full-time base compensation package, calibrated precisely to evaluate your enterprise network support authority, routing craftsmanship, and technical diagnostic speed.
- The exceptional professional canvas to directly shape, lead, and engine-configure the mission-critical digital infrastructures power-routing operations for over 30,000 businesses across the United Kingdom.
- Profound work-from-home remote parameters offering an elite hybrid layout, high workplace flexibility, and completely inclusive team parameters where performance achievements are celebrated.
- Immediate baseline access to premium corporate wellness and career enrichment tracks, providing comprehensive medical health insurance pathways, structured continuous training, and professional development stipends.
- Access to elite financial accumulation benefits, featuring a corporate retirement pension plan with company matching, flexible vacation allocations, and internal mobility tracks within a scaling, visionary tech empire.
