Pulse Labs delivers actionable, human-centered insights that guide the product lifecycles of the world’s leading technology companies. Backed by investors including Google, we provide end-to-end user research – from early concept to post-launch – powering high-priority innovations across AI, mobile platforms, wearables, and connected ecosystems.

We are seeking a Senior Mixed-Methods Researcher to lead high-impact research initiatives and serve as a strategic partner to our clients. In this role, you will architect and execute comprehensive quantitative and qualitative studies, including surveys, longitudinal panels, diary studies, usability testing, IDIs, as well as statistical analysis. Leveraging Pulse Labs’ proprietary research platform, you will synthesize rich video and survey datasets to deliver clear, data-driven narratives about how users interact with next-generation products.

You will join a collaborative team of researchers and analysts operating in a fast-paced, rapid-delivery environment where methodological rigor is paramount. If you excel at balancing multiple high-visibility projects, solving complex research challenges, and influencing cutting-edge tech, we would love to connect.

This is a 100% full-time remote requiring at least 80% overlap with Pacific Time (UTC/GMC-8). At times, you will be required to work before and after standard work hours, including weekends, to ensure quality and on-time client delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client Consultation & Research Strategy: Partner directly with enterprise clients to scope, design, and align research plans with business goals, technical requirements, and delivery timelines.
  • Mixed-Methods Execution: Architect and lead end-to-end research using advanced survey design, UX methodologies, and questionnaire frameworks, maintaining high standards of data integrity and client satisfaction.
  • Research Study Project Ownership: Own the planning, execution, and delivery of fast-paced, multi-track research studies. Act as the central driver of project success collaborating closely with Program Management, Recruitment, and Ops to monitor project health, safeguard data quality, enforce timelines, and maintain methodological rigor throughout.
  • Qualitative Synthesis: Mine rich multimodal data, including participant video recordings, transcripts, and open-ended feedback, to uncover behavioral drivers and product opportunities.
  • Quantitative Analysis: Run advanced statistical analyses (e.g., MaxDiff, conjoint analysis, factor analysis) to evaluate feature prioritization, trade-offs, and behavioral trends.
  • Deliverable Creation & Storytelling: Translate complex data into compelling, client-ready formats, including executive summaries, scorecards, slide decks, and detailed analytical reports tailored to stakeholder needs.
  • Stakeholder Presentation: Present findings and strategic recommendations to cross-functional teams and executive leadership across various technology verticals.
  • Mentorship & Culture: Coach and mentor junior researchers and analysts, fostering analytical consistency and professional growth across the team.
  • Continuous Improvement: Partner with internal leadership to refine research workflows, streamline operational processes, and integrate lessons learned from project cycles.

Requirements

  • Must be fluent in English
  • Experience: 5+ years of mixed-methods research experience leading end-to-end quantitative and qualitative investigations in a fast-paced, detail-oriented research operations environment.
  • Methodological Depth: Proven expertise across the entire research lifecycle – from study design and advanced data collection to analysis and synthesis – with deep familiarity with UX, behavioral, and human-centered design frameworks.
  • Client & Stakeholder Management: Track record of managing client/consulting relationships, with demonstrated success translating complex findings and presenting both original and peer-conducted research to senior and executive stakeholders.
  • Analytical & Data Acumen: Strong pattern recognition and anomaly detection skills, capable of identifying subtle behavioral trends and ensuring data integrity across large, multimodal datasets.
  • Operational Drive & Autonomy: High degree of personal ownership, proactivity, and operational rigor; comfortable navigating ambiguity and self-initiating solutions in a rapid-response, multi-project setting.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Proven ability to partner effectively with internal teams, external stakeholders, and clients, maintaining a positive and highly collaborative team environment.
  • Tools & Software: Tech-forward mindset with advanced proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides) and adaptability with modern analytical, panel management, and proprietary SaaS platforms.
  • Education: Graduate degree in Psychology, Survey Methodology, HCI, Human Factors, Research Methods, or a closely related field.
  • Preferences: Prior experience in an agency, consultancy, or vendor-side research environment delivering client-facing insights; experience conducting research for or working within FAANG/tier-one tech companies; hands-on familiarity with next-gen consumer technologies, hardware, or AI-driven product ecosystems.

Pulse Labs is an innovative, AI-powered User Experience (UX) research and product testing platform fundamentally designed to bridge the gap between AI technology and real-world human interaction. Founded in 2017 by Abhishek Suthan, Dylan Zwick, and Akansha Mehta, and headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah, the company originally launched out of the inaugural Alexa Accelerator to test voice applications. Today, it has evolved into a massive end-to-end research ecosystem. Under the hood, Pulse Labs leverages its proprietary FlightRecorder SDK and Pulse Voices™ panel to conduct highly targeted surveys, 1:1 interviews, and in-app behavioral observations across web, mobile, smart devices, and even automotive interfaces. Their primary target audience spans aggressive product managers, UX designers, and enterprise research teams who desperately need to capture, analyze, and surface authentic user feedback without the friction of traditional focus groups. What sets Pulse Labs apart in the highly competitive product analytics space is its heavyweight backing—securing early funding from Amazon’s Alexa Fund, Google, and Jeff Bezos’ personal investment arm—and its ability to seamlessly transform unstructured, real-time user behavior into actionable, AI-driven product insights.
