Position Overview
We are seeking a highly analytical, systems-minded Senior Infrastructure / DevOps Engineer to join our core centralized Fintech division in a full-time remote capacity across Canada. Operating as an autonomous technical architect and cross-functional consultant, you will step up to claim individual strategic operational accountability for implementing, optimizing, and maintaining highly secure, scalable cloud infrastructure layers for our global client portfolio. Shifting completely away from conventional single-lane systems maintenance, you will diagnose complex operational bottlenecks, design event-driven deployment pipelines, and enforce zero-trust security controls across highly regulated financial tech environments. This position requires an SRE veteran with 5 plus years of dedicated professional history who structures Infrastructure as Code (IaC) fluidly, manages container orchestrations smoothly natively using Kubernetes, and writes clean code confidently natively using Python, Go, or Node.js.
Key Responsibilities
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Orchestration: Quickly architect, provision, and scale resilient, multi-region cloud infrastructures cleanly natively utilizing DevOps tools (specifically requiring expert-tier command of Terraform or Pulumi).
- Secure Container Compute Management: Design, build, and optimize secure, multi-stage Dockerfiles and manage high-volume application containers smoothly inside major platforms (including EKS, GKE, ECS, Fargate, or Cloud Run environments).
- Automated CI/CD Pipeline Engineering: Design, implement, and govern robust CI/CD integration pipelines to automate automated testing, software packaging, and multi-tenant code deployments seamlessly across distributed environments.
- Core Multi-Cloud Services Provisioning: Manage foundational infrastructure pools, block storage nodes, and database deployments inside major cloud ecosystems, demonstrating authoritative technical depth in either AWS or GCP infrastructure networks.
- Advanced Isolation Networking Configuration: Structure, scale, and secure complex networking environments, configuring private VPC architectures, subnets, routing tables, VPC peering pathways, NAT gateways, VPN tunnels, and elastic load balancers.
- Financial Security Controls and Hardening: Enforce strict data validation, encryption-at-rest, centralized secrets management, network firewalls, and web application firewalls (AWS WAF, GCP Cloud Armor) to achieve rigid compliance standards (SOC 2, PIPEDA, HIPAA, and GDPR).
- Systems Automation and Utility Scripting: Write high-quality, maintainable, and type-safe automation scripts and custom command-line utilities natively leveraging Python, Go, Node.js, or Bash to solve client-specific operational challenges.
- Cross-Functional Technical Consulting: Onboard rapidly to diagnose production anomalies, serving as an authoritative technical voice capable of translating complex architectural issues into scannable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 5 plus years of verified professional history running advanced DevOps engineering, distributed systems infrastructure management, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or technical cloud architecture consulting.
- Deep, authoritative technical command of cloud-native primitives, database systems configuration (AWS RDS, GCP CloudSQL), object storage buckets (S3), and serverless computing layers (AWS Lambda, Cloud Functions).
- Expert-tier capability automating infrastructure configurations, deploying container networks, and optimizing query pipelines natively utilizing DevOps components (specifically Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform).
- Practical operational familiarity writing performant, clean server automation scripts and cloud utilities natively leveraging Python, Go, or Node.js runtime environments.
- Demonstrated history implementing strict data protection controls and cloud firewalls to safeguard PII inside heavily regulated financial, healthcare, or enterprise corporate landscapes.
- Proven professional history operating successfully within a consultant, agency, or high-autonomy freelancer capacity, demonstrating a strong self-starter velocity and comfort with ambiguity.
- Outstanding verbal, written, and document communication attributes in fluent English, enabling uncompromised clarity when leading code reviews and sync-free async alignments.
- Location Context: Position open exclusively to qualified infrastructure engineers based permanently and resident within Canada to operate under a 100% remote layout.
Preferred Strategic Indicators (Nice to Have)
- Prior commercial infrastructure history operating explicitly within a high-volume fintech platform, web3/crypto startup, digital ledger hub, or blockchain indexing ecosystem (running Ethereum/Solana nodes or RPC networks).
- Hands-on production experience running non-deterministic AI agent systems or LLMs, managing tracing pipelines (Langfuse, LangSmith, Arize), and implementing model gateways (LiteLLM) or durable execution workflows (Temporal).
- Possession of active professional cloud certifications (AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional, DevOps Engineer Professional, or Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect).
- Advanced telemetry monitoring background utilizing Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog suites to secure high system uptime loops.
What We Offer
- Experience-Calibrated Canadian Salaried Structure: Highly competitive full-time baseline compensation packages tailored precisely to reflect your DevOps authority, database scripting crafts, and fintech pipeline velocities.
- The exceptional professional canvas to directly direct, shape, and code-engineer the containerized infrastructure models power-routing digital applications for iconic international brands.
- Profound work-from-home remote parameters offering a true **Work From Anywhere** policy across Canada, complete scheduling trust, and zero physical geographic office commuting friction.
- Immediate baseline access to premium personal lifestyle perks, providing comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance coverage alongside a flexible, high-trust work-life balance.
- Generous career enrichment provisions, featuring an **Unlimited PTO Policy** (encouraging a minimum of 15 days off per year) to ensure your continuous creative recharge.
- A vibrant corporate community culture, celebrating hard work through regular events, knowledge-sharing circles, and fully paid **Regular Team Retreats** to amazing destinations like Cancun, Hawaii, and the Dominican Republic.
