Position Overview

We are seeking a highly analytical, systems-minded Senior DevOps Engineer to join our core Platform Engineering division in a full-time, Global Remote capacity. In this high-concurrency individual contributor seat, you will assume absolute production ownership over operating, scaling, and securing the cloud-native systems backing Incode’s global identity verification infrastructure. Moving entirely past reactive ticket-taking models, you will treat operational friction as a software bug, optimizing distributed environments to make the core platform faster, safer, and quieter. This position demands a pragmatic, self-directed systems engineer who brings deep hands-on infrastructure-as-code mastery across complex Kubernetes and AWS architectures and takes profound personal pride in delivering quiet, unsexy platform reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Production Kubernetes Orchestration: Operate, scale, and continuously evolve cloud-native runtime environments natively inside enterprise Kubernetes infrastructures with a rigid focus on system reliability and automation.
• Declarative Automation Coding: Author, standardize, and maintain modular Infrastructure as Code (IaC) libraries with true depth, building highly repeatable environments using Terraform and Helm Charts.
• Continuous Delivery Optimization: Implement, maintain, and optimize secure, developer-friendly CI/CD delivery tracks, drastically shortening the time window from initial codebase merge to live system deployment.
• Blameless Incident Remediation: Lead complex production incident response actions, orchestrate thorough, blameless post-incident learning reviews, and engineer durable, root-cause structural fixes rather than simple temporary patches.
• Observability Telemetry Tuning: Improve platform logging, performance tracing, and monitoring thresholds to eliminate unactionable alert noise, surface clean telemetry signal, and minimize on-call engineer fatigue.
• Pragmatic Security Governance: Partner alongside security squads to deploy defensible compliance controls, safeguarding secrets management parameters, role-based access tokens, and structural network boundaries without compromising release velocity.
• Developer Experience Advancement: Enhance internal developer workflows by designing clean technical documentation templates, self-service provisioning scripts, and automated deployment paths.
• On-Call Rotation Participation: Claim active ownership of the platform team’s weekly 24x7 on-call support rotation, responding promptly to customer-impacting infrastructure faults through successful structural resolution.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 7+ years of verified professional history running DevOps pipelines, site reliability engineering (SRE), full-stack backend software delivery, or distributed systems infrastructure.
• Deep, authoritative technical command running and scaling multi-tenant Kubernetes clusters within high-volume production environments (not just standing them up initial phases).
• Proven depth and hand-on configuration fluency implementing infrastructure automation natively utilizing Terraform and Helm Charts as essential operational primitives.
• Advanced operational literacy with at least one major global cloud architecture network (with a strong, definitive preference for Amazon Web Services (AWS) layers).
• Solid Linux operating system fundamentals paired with advanced, real-world distributed infrastructure debugging and network tracking skills.
• Outstanding written and verbal English communication mechanics, with a native ability to explain production tradeoffs or system risks cleanly to engineering leads and executive leadership without jargon.
• On-Call Availability: Absolute comfort participating inside a weekly, rigorous 24x7 on-call rotational shifting schedule.
