Senior Data Architect / Cloud Data Leadership Role (Azure Focus)

The Role

Key Responsibilities

• Lead small to medium-sized technical teams, including work allocation, technical escalation, and representation in Agile ceremonies and client meetings.
• Design and implement logical and physical data models for cloud and hybrid data warehouse environments, supporting structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data formats.
• Develop data architectures for integration processing and full lifecycle data warehouse implementations.
• Utilize data modeling tools like ER/Studio or ER/Win and configure Azure Data Platform services, including Azure Data Lake Store, Azure Storage, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database, Logic Apps, and APIs.
• Provision and configure Azure data service resources while demonstrating the ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies.
• Perform data profiling and create source-to-target mappings.

Required Technical Skills

• 5–8 years of relevant experience in data architecture and cloud technologies.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL scripting, including PySpark.
• Expertise in general cloud architecture, including designing data pipelines from requirements.
• API knowledge (preference for candidates who can develop APIs).
• Experience with Microsoft Azure Data Platform services.

Preferred Experience/Skills/Certifications

• Microsoft Fabric, Azure Cosmos DB, Data Flows, Express Route, and Azure Active Directory.
• Experience migrating customers from on-premise environments to Azure.
• Power BI and semantic modeling.
• Familiarity with AWS Glue and Azure Data Factory, AWS S3 and Azure Blob, AWS Athena and Azure Databricks, AWS Redshift and Azure Synapse, and AWS ECS and Azure AKS.
