This position is needed to enable the growing commercial legal team to support the Go-to-Market Sales team at Twilio. You will partner with the enterprise sales team to manage the full life-cycle negotiation of complex enterprise sales deals.

Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll:
- Take ownership of the review, negotiation, drafting and management of a wide range of legal agreements.
- Advise Twilio’s internal clients on contract interpretation and negotiation.
- Champion Twilio’s mission, ethics and integrity by ensuring Twilio’s compliance policies are in practice and protect the company from risk, comply with all applicable local laws and regulations, and are in line with Twilio’s values.
- Seek to understand the context of the positions of Twilio’s customers and the requests from Twilio’s internal clients. Strive to solve problems and address issues from their perspectives.
- Evaluate and prioritize which matters and issues are most worthy or in need of your attention at any given time.

*Required:
- J.D. with strong academic credentials and demonstrated record of success as a lawyer
- Member of local State Bar or eligible to register as Registered In-House Counsel
- 6+ years of commercial transactions experience with at least 4 years of negotiating complex technology transactions (e.g., SaaS)
- Experience supporting a large sales organization
- Ability to structure, draft and negotiate a high volume and broad range of commercial contracts, including Master Services Agreements, Professional Services Agreements, Non-Disclosure Agreements, etc.
- Proven ability to provide entrepreneurial, quick-thinking, pragmatic, business-oriented advice and recommendations that properly balances the legal risk and business reward
- Must be able to take complex legal concepts and explain them in a way that allows a non-lawyer to understand the issue and the associated risk
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to advocate for a position while maintaining a collaborative and open-minded approach
- Ability to triage a heavy workflow, setting appropriate expectations with internal clients and delivering results efficiently
Location
This role will be remote, but is not eligible to be hired in CA, CT, NJ, NY, PA, WA.
Travel
We prioritize connection and opportunities to build relationships with our customers and each other. For this role, you may be required to travel occasionally to participate in project or team in-person meetings.

Compensation
*Please note the salary range information provided applies only to candidates residing in California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Washington D.C., and Washington State due to local requirements. Compensation for candidates in other locations will be discussed during the hiring process. Please note that hiring for this role is not restricted to the locations listed above.
The estimated pay ranges for this role are as follows:
- Based in Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Vermont or Washington D.C.: $171,120 - $213,900.
- Based in New York, New Jersey, Washington State, or California (outside of the San Francisco Bay area): $181,200 - $226,500.
- Based in the San Francisco Bay area, California: $201,280 - $251,600.
- This role may be eligible to participate in Twilio’s equity plan and corporate bonus plan. All roles are generally eligible for the following benefits: health care insurance, 401(k) retirement account, paid sick time, paid personal time off, paid parental leave.
The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location.
