By collecting rich, high-quality human behavioral feedback, the platform helps engineers eliminate bias, refine model accuracy, and build safely aligned artificial intelligence products that reflect the true breath of humanity. Operating a high-velocity, distributed engineering workspace rooted in deep customer empathy and absolute transparency, Prolific provides cloud-native engineers with an uncompromised remote canvas to build resilient automation pipelines and secure big-data research nodes safely worldwide.
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly analytical, systems-minded Senior Cloud Platform Engineer to join our core centralized Platform division in a full-time remote capacity across the United Kingdom. Operating deep within Prolific technical foundation, you will step up to claim individual strategic operational accountability for administering, defining, and optimizing the comprehensive cloud infrastructure and container layers powering our global data delivery applications. Shifting completely away from routine mechanical server tuning or slow manual deployment cycles, you will engineer scalable automation frameworks, optimize production cluster performance, and act as the primary technical point-of-contact for GCP architectures. This position requires an enterprise SRE veteran with extensive experience managing large-scale public cloud environments who maps Kubernetes orchestration vectors fluidly, designs automated declarative GitOps networks smoothly using ArgoCD, and builds self-service developer runbooks to maximize developer velocity without compromising system security boundaries.
Key Responsibilities
- Production Kubernetes Cluster Governance: Manage, maintain, and optimize large-scale production-grade Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) clusters, checking the absolute reliability and low latency of data streams natively utilizing DevOps engineering benchmarks.
- Declarative GitOps Delivery Management: Design, configure, and maintain automated multi-region software deployment pipelines, ensuring declarative environment synchronization natively leveraging **ArgoCD**, **Helm**, and Kustomize tools.
- Infrastructure-as-Code Automation: Formulate, track, and scale modular cloud infrastructure components, compiling clean and version-controlled provisioning blueprints natively using **Terraform** scripts.
- Automated Tooling and Scripting Engineering: Author, test, and maintain robust infrastructure utility programs, back-end configurations, and data ingestion hooks natively leveraging Python or TypeScript code blocks.
- Developer Golden Paths Architecture: Design and implement automated “golden paths” and self-service platform tools that empower internal product developers to build, test, and deploy software modules independently while minimizing operational friction.
- Sovereign Cloud Compliance Hardening: Adapt, audit, and secure cloud networking spaces to ensure continuous alignment with global data privacy and compliance baselines, including SOC2, ISO-27001, and Cyber Essentials frameworks.
- Site Reliability and On-Call Triage: Participate actively within the platform squad rolling on-call engineering rotation, contributing to root-cause analyses, rapid incident response sequences, and systematic system troubleshooting blocks.
- Self-Service Documentation Curation: Author and structurally expand clear, developer-focused infrastructure guides, migration runbooks, and cloud architecture maps to enable autonomous team training.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proven professional history running advanced DevOps engineering, site reliability operations (SRE), cloud systems architecture, automated container orchestration, or core pipeline infrastructure consulting.
- Deep, authoritative technical command of cloud-native computing laws, Unix/Linux systems administration, VPC patterns, network routing, IAM boundary management, and distributed systems architecture.
- Expert-tier background administering, scaling, and diagnosing large-scale production Kubernetes meshes natively utilizing DevOps automation frameworks (specifically Terraform, GKE, and ArgoCD pipelines).
- Practical operational familiarity writing secure back-end automation scripts, server-side code blocks, or cloud configuration tools natively leveraging Python and/or TypeScript environments.
- Demonstrated experience successfully implementing container configurations, package managers, and manifest overlays via tools including Helm and Kustomize.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication traits in fluent English, with an empathetic focus on supporting internal engineering cells (our Prolificos) and translating abstract cloud constraints into clean technical solutions.
- Location Context: Position open exclusively to qualified platform engineers based permanently and resident within the **United Kingdom** to execute technical strategy under a 100% remote layout.
Preferred Strategic Indicators (Nice to Have)
- Prior commercial infrastructure engineering history operating within an artificial intelligence development platform, high-volume data analytics startup, biometric tracking lab, or global B2B SaaS network.
- Hands-on multicloud engineering exposure, highlighting a proven background navigating Amazon Web Services (AWS) and provisioning resources via the AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK).
- Direct operational familiarity setting up, mapping, and monitoring system telemetry, container metrics, and distributed traces using observability suites like Datadog.
- An outcome-driven personal philosophy rooted in absolute high ownership, an intentional approach that challenges manual or repeatable tasks, and an eagerness to stay at the vanguard of AI data alignment.
What We Offer
- Highly competitive, experience-calibrated full-time baseline salary packages structured transparently to reward your cloud engineering authority, Kubernetes craftsmanship, and automation velocity.
- The exceptional professional canvas to directly direct, shape, and code-engineer the foundational cloud platform layers and GitOps pipelines power-routing human data infrastructures for international AI researchers.
- Profound work-from-home remote parameters offering an elite distributed workplace setup, complete scheduling trust, and zero physical geographic office commuting friction from any location inside the United Kingdom.
- Immediate eligibility to enroll in Prolific comprehensive, industry-leading protection benefits package and health insurance schemes.
- Access to robust career maturation tracks, continuous learning allowance paths, and collaborative digital studio spaces driven by an impactful, mission-oriented team culture.
