Position Overview

We are seeking a highly analytical, systems-minded Senior Backend Engineer - Typescript to join our core centralized AI division in a full-time remote capacity within Makkah, Saudi Arabia. Operating deep within Salla’s technical platform layers, you will step up to claim individual strategic operational accountability for building, defining, and optimizing the comprehensive integration and infrastructure layer that safely connects our AI capabilities to live production environments. Shifting completely away from routine script editing or basic API adjustments, you will serve as the technical lead authoring AI-focused SDKs, launching specialized protocol servers, and designing versioned rules engines for platform trust and safety. This position requires an enterprise engineering veteran with 4+ years of dedicated TypeScript and Node.js history who models complex state machine transitions fluidly, optimizes high-traffic data streams smoothly, and mentors junior engineers to uphold world-class development and testing standards.

Key Responsibilities

• AI Integration and SDK Platform Architecture: Design, write, and maintain scalable, type-safe AI-focused SDKs and library layers, checking seamless communication between backend machine learning services and front-end user spaces natively utilizing Backend Node.js layouts.
• Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server Engineering: Code, optimize, and maintain custom Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers and backend API endpoints, allowing conversational AI agents to safely interact with internal systems, third-party tooling, and core cloud infrastructure.
• Sovereign Rules and Policy Engine Ownership: Formulate and manage a versioned, policy-as-code state machine and business logic framework for Salla’s integrity systems, translating raw model scoring inputs and risk signals into auditable decisions natively leveraging Cybersecurity trust and safety benchmarks.
• Audit Trails and Explainable Decision Modeling: Model highly precise decision records, relational schemas, and structured state audit trails to ensure all integrity enforcement actions remain fully explainable, transparent, and legally reversible through appeal loops.
• Real-Time Stream Optimization: Tune, manage, and optimize complex network data flows flowing across our infrastructure, explicitly accelerating real-time conversational streaming responses and web socket exchanges.
• Cross-Functional Platform Data Contract Alignment: Partner peer-to-peer alongside visual frontend developers, product managers, and internal ML/Integrity leads to establish rigid data schema definitions, API contracts, and user-facing feature interfaces.
• Relational Database Performance Hardening: Monitor and optimize relational data stores, writing advanced SQL index modifications and tuning queries across PostgreSQL and MySQL configurations to eliminate system bottlenecks under heavy concurrent transactions.
• Engineering Governance and Peer Mentorship: Lead asynchronous code review loops, enforce strict branch hygiene via Git Flow, and actively mentor mid- and junior-level backend engineers to preserve uncompromised testing standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 4+ years of verified professional history running advanced backend software engineering, cloud systems development, type-safe API architecture design, database query optimization, or core infrastructure consulting.
• Deep, authoritative technical command of TypeScript, Node.js runtimes, microservices architecture, asynchronous execution cycles, and modern object-oriented code architecture rules (specifically SOLID and clean code practices).
• Expert-tier background writing production-grade microservices and building scalable, decoupled backend logic layers natively utilizing Backend programming setups (including hands-on unit and integration testing mastery).
• Practical operational familiarity configuring secure parameter walls, diagnosing data validation gaps, and tracking access boundaries natively using Cybersecurity process layouts.
• Demonstrated capability to take an ambiguous technical problem space related to stateful business logic, model the properties cleanly, and drive it through to a production-ready system launch independently.

• Hands-on functional familiarity constructing Agentic AI orchestration nodes, building semantic vector indexes, or handling LLM streaming tokens natively.
• Direct operational experience building rules engines or policy-as-code modules using specialized framework tooling like Open Policy Agent (OPA) or Rego.
