Position Overview

We are seeking a highly sophisticated, data-minded Senior Java Developer to join our core global Engineering team in a full-time, remote-first capacity within Ukraine or Europe. In this high-trust backend engineering seat, you will partner directly with an industry-leading client enterprise focused on the distribution of advanced technological systems for human resources management, multi-tenant payroll platforms, pension savings registries, and attendance systems. Shifting completely away from simple manual patches, you will claim absolute individual accountability for leading the technical solution design, analyzing complex business requirements, and driving structural project development initiatives forward. This high-agency role demands a seasoned server-side developer who writes exceptionally clean Java code, commands deep architectural vision across distributed microservices grids, and effortlessly eliminates performance bottlenecks to process data transparently while protecting sensitive client information.

Key Responsibilities

• Java EE Backend Architecture: Design, implement, and maintain scalable, high-performance server-side architectures, leveraging an expert-tier command of the Java and Java EE software ecosystems.
• Enterprise Spring Framework Customization: Code, configure, and protect enterprise-grade business logic and data permissions layers natively utilizing Spring Framework (Core, MVC, and Security).
• Object-Relational Persistence Mapping: Model robust, maintainable backend database structures and manage data access boundaries safely utilizing Hibernate and JPA primitives.
• RESTful Microservices Engineering: Architect and optimize low-latency, secure RESTful APIs and decoupled application interfaces, facilitating high-throughput system integrations under changing business conditions.
• CI/CD Build Automation: Manage build registries, dependencies, and environment targets smoothly using build tools like Maven or Gradle, alongside continuous deployment pipelines in Jenkins.
• Runtime Profiling & Latency Triage: Take clear initiative in isolating technical code bottlenecks, debugging production execution flaws, and driving proactive performance optimizations natively across Tomcat or WebSphere application servers.
• Rigorous Code Quality & Reviews: Write high-quality, maintainable code configurations, ensure exhaustive automated test coverage via unit and integration tests, and conduct strict peer code reviews to enforce engineering excellence.
• Technical Mentorship & Collaboration: Serve as a vital force multiplier and technical mentor for mid-level backend developers, proactively identifying system risks and collaborating cross-functionally across distributed squads.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 5+ years of verified commercial history running advanced backend software development, distributed systems design, server-side code refactoring, or full-scale platform engineering.
• Profound, authoritative technical fluency programming natively inside the Java language, with a deep conceptual grasp of OOP principles, system design patterns, and standard software engineering best practices.
• Hands-on production experience designing, building, and securing web applications using Spring (Core, MVC, Security) and Hibernate/JPA tools.
• Demonstrated experience constructing and monitoring microservices layouts and integrating secure public or private RESTful APIs.
• Practical familiarity navigating team-based configuration workflows, including version control tasks inside Git and automated pipeline environments via Jenkins.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication mechanics, with a proven ability to present clear technical software solutions to cross-functional engineering and product cells.
• Location Context: Full-time remote-first parameters open to qualified backend software developers based permanently within Ukraine or across allowed Europe remote regions to execute from home under flexible hours.
