The Senior Australian-Experienced Bookkeeper will take ownership of finance operations for two Australian companies, including an e-commerce distribution business and property assets business. The role covers bookkeeping, payroll, BAS preparation, accounts payable and receivable, inventory, purchasing, budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting. This senior hands-on position requires advanced MYOB EXO and Excel skills and close coordination with the company director and warehouse team.
- Maintain daily bookkeeping and general ledgers across two Australian companies, including transaction coding, journals, accruals, prepayments, inter-company entries, and director or shareholder transactions.
- Complete daily bank, credit card, loan, finance account, and petty cash reconciliations and correct discrepancies promptly with a complete audit trail.
- Manage accounts payable, including supplier invoices, purchase-order and goods-received matching, supplier reconciliations, payment schedules, and 30-day credit accounts.
- Manage accounts receivable, including invoicing, payment allocation, reconciliations, aged receivables, overdue follow-up, and approved stop-supply notifications.
- Process fortnightly Australian payroll, including wages, deductions, PAYG withholding, leave accruals, superannuation, STP reporting, year-end requirements, and general-ledger reconciliation.
- Prepare GST reconciliations, BAS workpapers, and PAYG withholding information and provide accurate records to the external accountant or tax agent for review and lodgement.
- Monitor inventory levels, stock movement, stock costs, landed costs, minimum and maximum levels, and slow-moving or excess inventory across MYOB EXO and Shopify.
- Prepare and track purchase orders, maintain supplier pricing, and match orders, warehouse receipts, and supplier invoices, investigating all stock or pricing discrepancies.
- Reconcile Shopify sales, payments, refunds, fees, and inventory and maintain accurate e-commerce accounting records.
- Prepare monthly and annual budgets, cash-flow forecasts, revenue and expense forecasts, inventory purchasing forecasts, payroll forecasts, and tax and BAS cash-flow plans.
- Complete month-end reconciliations and prepare profit and loss, balance sheet, cash-flow, aged account, inventory, purchasing, and budget-versus-actual reports with clear variance analysis.
- Identify emerging cash-flow, expenditure, inventory, or financial control risks and explain the required management action.
- Prepare banking payment templates for director approval and maintain confidentiality, financial integrity, and approval controls without authority to approve or pay unauthorized transactions.
