Role Overview
The Senior Account Manager plays a critical role in managing and growing client accounts, serving as a trusted partner in collaboration with Account Directors. This role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day account operations, leading cross-functional workflows, and contributing to strategic planning that drives client success. With a strong understanding of the client’s business and industry, the Senior Account Manager proactively identifies opportunities, delivers actionable insights, and ensures the agency’s work drives meaningful business outcomes, client satisfaction, and profitable growth.
Key Responsibilities
Account Management & Execution
• Oversee day-to-day client account management, ensuring client priorities, business context, feedback, and success measures are clearly understood across the team, while partnering with PM to ensure delivery plans, timelines, and workflows support those priorities.
• Support account planning and continuously refine strategies to meet evolving client needs
• Ensure all deliverables align with client objectives and agency standards
Growth & Financial Management
• Support scope alignment, pricing context, account health, and commercial inputs in partnership with leadership, Finance, and PM.
• Contribute to account forecasting and performance visibility by providing client context, growth opportunities, and risk inputs, in partnership with PM and Finance.
• Identify and support opportunities for organic growth and improved account health
Client Partnership
• Build and maintain strong client relationships at appropriate levels
• Actively listen to client needs and challenges, providing thoughtful recommendations and solutions
• Collaborate effectively with client stakeholders and external partners
Strategic Contribution
• Contribute to analysis of client business, competition, and market landscape
• Translate insights into actionable strategies and recommendations
• Partner with cross-functional teams to develop solutions that address client challenges and opportunities
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Ensure seamless coordination across internal teams (media, creative, analytics, operations)
• Maintain clear scopes of work and support effective workflow processes
• Support onboarding of new clients to ensure strong integration and early success
Team Leadership & Development
• Manage and develop junior team members, setting clear goals and expectations
• Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and growth opportunities
• Contribute to talent planning and team development
Business Development
• Support new business efforts through research, strategy, and pitch development as needed

Required Knowledge and Skill Set
• Strong account management and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Understanding of client business, industry dynamics, and marketing fundamentals
• Experience with account financials, including scoping and forecasting
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
• Effective communication and relationship-building skills
• Ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams
• Demonstrated ability to identify growth opportunities and contribute to strategic thinking
• Adaptability and ability to navigate changing client needs and priorities
Qualifications
• 5–8 years of experience in account management or a client-facing marketing, advertising, or media role (agency experience preferred)
• Demonstrated ability to manage accounts and contribute to client growth
• 1+ years of people management or mentorship experience
• Cross-functional experience working with media, creative, analytics, or operations teams preferred
• Experience in media and/or research is a plus
• Willingness to travel as needed based on client requirements
