The Role

The Security Systems Technical Lead will provide expertise and direction for the design, deployment, optimization, and ongoing health of enterprise physical security technology. This role supports complex security systems initiatives, evaluates and improves existing technologies and processes, and serves as a key technical partner to security, IT, engineering, and vendor teams.

The Technical Lead will oversee solutions from requirements and design through implementation and operational support, while identifying opportunities to improve system reliability, scalability, lifecycle management, and overall security program effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, technical execution, and delivery of enterprise physical security technology projects, including PACS, VMS, video analytics, and related security infrastructure.
  • Own projects from requirements gathering and technical design through testing, deployment, commissioning, and operational handoff.
  • Develop project plans, schedules, milestones, and technical requirements while managing dependencies, risks, and resource needs.
  • Evaluate existing security systems and develop remediation strategies to improve system health, reliability, performance, and operational effectiveness.
  • Provide technical leadership for system migrations, upgrades, integrations, and lifecycle initiatives across on-premises, hybrid, and SaaS environments.
  • Perform or oversee system configuration, provisioning, integration testing, troubleshooting, and issue resolution across enterprise security platforms.
  • Review technical designs, system architectures, device configurations, and infrastructure requirements to ensure solutions meet security, operational, and enterprise standards.
  • Partner with security operations, IT, engineering, vendors, and other stakeholders to align technical solutions with business and operational requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve security technology processes, system lifecycle management, and operational workflows through standardization and automation.
  • Develop technical documentation, SOPs, implementation plans, and recommendations that support sustainable system operations and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience designing, implementing, supporting, or managing enterprise physical security systems and technologies.
  • Strong technical expertise with Physical Access Control Systems (PACS), Video Management Systems (VMS), badging, and related technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise platforms such as Lenel OnGuard, C•CURE 9000, Genetec Security Center, or comparable systems.
  • Demonstrated experience with system migrations, integrations, upgrades, commissioning, and lifecycle management.
  • Strong understanding of security system architecture, networking, databases, servers, and cloud/hybrid environments.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues, assess system health, identify root causes, and develop remediation strategies.
  • Strong project coordination and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple technical initiatives, priorities, and dependencies.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across security, IT, engineering, vendors, and other stakeholders.
