About Loft Orbital: Loft Orbital is the premier, internationally recognized commercial aerospace pioneer, space infrastructure innovator, and orbital satellite platform leader on an absolute mission to deliver a fast, reliable, and simple path for deploying missions in orbit. By integrating, launching, and managing sophisticated modern spacecraft, Loft Orbital power-routes end-to-end missions as a service across critical digital sectors including Earth observation, global IoT connectivity, edge-compute on-orbit AI, and national security frameworks. Leveraging an extensive, pre-existing inventory of modular satellite buses and flights, the company reduces traditional years-long integration timelines down to mere months. Backed by more than 30 successfully flown missions and a rapidly growing fleet tracking to exceed 30 satellites by 2027, the organization maintains high-standard engineering hubs connecting San Francisco, Golden, and Toulouse. Loft Orbital provides high-ownership technology architects with an uncompromised remote canvas to build standout space solutions and scale aerospace assets safely across international networks.
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly analytical, systems-minded Sales Systems Engineer to join our core centralized Sales & Business Development collective in a full-time remote capacity across France, with a primary hub presence in Toulouse. Operating directly on the front lines of our global business development efforts, you will step up to claim individual strategic accountability for managing technical customer engagements end-to-end—bridging the path from early mission definition down to final contract signature. Shifting completely away from routine promotional support or passive client logging, you will serve as the master technical translator and driver of clarity between external customers and internal engineering squads. This position requires an aerospace veteran with 5+ years of systems engineering background who evaluates physical payload configurations fluidly, architectures mission narratives smoothly under ambiguous parameters, and coordinates cross-functional R&D cells to push technical discussions toward concrete commercial outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-End Technical Customer Governance: Lead complex client conversations in fluent English with uncompromised clarity, translating abstract mission needs into crisp technical specifications and operational milestones.
- Ecosystem Solutions Architecture and Mapping: Command and explain Loft Orbital’s deep technical solutions catalog—including multi-tenant satellite platforms, in-orbit computational capabilities, and mission flight operations—balancing space design trade-offs concisely for engineers and executives.
- Payload Integration Assessment: Evaluate customer payload designs and custom electrical interface properties across physical and on-demand missions, ensuring absolute alignment with structural Electrical Engineering specifications.
- Physical Mission Envelope Formulation: Analyze and configure spacecraft structural tolerances, environmental controls, and deployment requirements to map hardware setups natively using Mechanical Engineering principles.
- Technical Proposal Content Ownership: Author, compile, and structure comprehensive written proposal packages, including preliminary satellite architectures, detailed orbital mechanics data, and mission narratives.
- Business Development & Engineering Coordination: Serve as the primary, high-velocity coordination anchor between sales development cells and core engineering units, synthesizing complex customer requirements into actionable internal designs.
- CONOPS and Mission Planning Auditing: Review customer design concepts against LEO program offerings, formulating detailed Concepts of Operations (CONOPS) and payload scheduling timelines.
- Modern Technical Tools Optimization: Operate hands-on across startup internal directories, cloud-based data repositories, and agile lightweight tracking applications to preserve high process efficiency.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Approximately 5+ years of verified professional history running advanced systems engineering, space mission operations, aerospace application development, pre-sales technical consultation, or satellite program coordination.
- Deep, authoritative technical background managing Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite frameworks, showing hands-on familiarity evaluating payloads, mission planning loops, and structural aerospace designs.
- Expert-tier capacity defining physical spatial accommodations, weight configurations, and environmental shell layouts natively utilizing Mechanical Engineering principles.
- Practical operational familiarity auditing satellite payload interface circuits, telemetry systems, and data-routing architectures natively leveraging Electrical Engineering concepts.
- Demonstrated history driving structure, momentum, and clear resolution guidelines within highly fast-paced cross-functional organizations filled with shifting priorities and technological ambiguity.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication traits in confident, business-fluent English, enabling seamless collaboration with stakeholders across international offices; resumes must be submitted in English.
- Location Context: Position open to qualified aerospace specialists based permanently and resident within **France (Toulouse or remote-first France)** to execute pre-sales systems tracking under a 100% remote layout.
Preferred Strategic Indicators (Nice to Have)
- Prior commercial history operating in a customer-facing solutions engineering, mission architecture, or sales engineering capacity within a space service or mission provider environment.
- Demonstrated background supporting a variety of LEO mission parameters, explicitly including specialized Earth Observation technology systems.
- An outcome-driven personal philosophy rooted in a deep passion for the commercial space industry, welcoming respectful debate, and possessing the courage to challenge baseline assumptions.
What We Offer
- The exceptional professional canvas to directly direct, shape, and code-engineer the pre-sales systems architectures and mission plans power-routing advanced satellites for governments and research institutions globally.
- Highly competitive, capability-benchmarked full-time baseline compensation configurations tailored precisely to evaluate your aerospace authority, supplemented immediately by active corporate **Equity** ownership grants.
- Profound work-from-home remote parameters providing an elite digital workplace, complete scheduling trust, and zero physical geographic office commuting friction from any location inside France.
- Access to exceptional rest calibration benefits, offering **up to 35 days of Paid Time Off (Vacations & RTT allocations)** combined with highly flexible working hours to keep you performing at your best.
- Immediate enrollment in premium regional social options, including comprehensive Health and Life Insurance plans alongside dedicated **Lunch Vouchers** (including access to our popular #loft-gourmand culinary slack channel).
- Elite cross-office global travel opportunities, allowing you to interface directly with development teams across San Francisco, Colorado, and Toulouse to learn from structural differences.
- Structured corporate onboarding assistance, including comprehensive **Relocation Assistance to Toulouse** when applicable.
