Position Overview
We are seeking a highly analytical, systems-minded Head of UX (m/f/d) to join our core centralized Product & Engineering division in a full-time remote capacity across multiple European target countries, including Germany, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, or the United Kingdom. Shifting completely away from routine pixel pushing, interface asset drafting, or isolated user session moderation, you will step up to claim individual strategic operational accountability for owning, defining, and building our comprehensive global user experience function. Acting as an empathetic player-coach and visionary executive advocate, you will lead a highly dedicated design and research team of two Product Designers and one User Researcher. This senior position requires a design veteran who models design systems fluidly, structures automated AI-assisted product workflows smoothly, and embeds Design Thinking throughout the comprehensive product development lifecycle to translate complex data analytics into simple, delightful merchant interfaces.
Key Responsibilities
- Global User Experience Function Leadership: Establish, execute, and scale the overarching strategic vision, operational playbooks, and execution baselines for RoomPriceGenie’s global user experience division, aligning design maturity with core product scaling goals.
- C-Suite Design Advocacy and Roadmap Governance: Partner peer-to-peer alongside internal Product and Engineering leadership to convert high-level commercial priorities into a clear, sequenced roadmap for Design & Research, championing the function as a core business driver.
- Enterprise Component Design System Ownership: Guide and oversee the transition of localized component libraries into a robust, centralized multi-tenant design system, enforcing uncompromised visual consistency natively utilizing UI/UX Design best practices.
- Strategic AI Operations and Enablement Formulation: Set the technical and strategic direction for how generative AI models map into the design and research workflow, establishing clear quality guardrails that define where automation accelerates delivery and where human craft remains mandatory natively leveraging Project Management lifecycles.
- Cross-Functional Design Thinking Integration: Drive the widespread adoption of structured Design Thinking methodologies across all lifecycle stages, proactively identifying major cross-product UX opportunities to optimize hotel merchant retention.
- A Player-Coach Talent Mentorship: Provide continuous technical coaching, structured design feedback, and regular development calibration blocks during 1-on-1 sessions to expand our design cells.
- Quantitative Design Quality Auditing: Review, audit, and provide constructive critique on active design assets, interface wireframes, and prototype mockups to safeguard uncompromised product outcomes.
- Career Progression Framework Curation: Author, document, and maintain clear career development pathways, skills matrices, and professional advancement tracks for distributed designers and user researchers.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proven professional history running advanced user experience design, digital product research management, corporate design operations (DesignOps), customer interface strategy, or design consultancy.
- Deep, authoritative technical command of human-computer interaction (HCI) rules, information architecture theory, qualitative and quantitative user research methods, heuristic evaluations, and multi-tenant layout scalability.
- Expert-tier background building composable wireframes, orchestrating interactive platform flows, and aligning user journeys natively utilizing UI/UX Design prototyping tools (specifically covering Figma or equivalent design environments).
- Practical operational familiarity organizing milestone deliverables, managing distributed design timelines, and standardizing product release gates natively using Project Management frameworks.
- Demonstrated Leadership Footprint: A documented track record operating successfully within a senior design leadership role, with direct professional history owning an explicit UX function, managing direct reports (designers and researchers), and influencing cross-functional product choices at the leadership table.
- Outstanding verbal, written, and presentation communication traits in fluent English, enabling absolute confidence when translating abstract design valuation metrics into crisp, scannable context that resonates with software engineers and executive directors.
