Sylvera is seeking an experienced Regulatory Compliance Officer in Ireland to play a critical role in supporting our compliance framework in connection with the ESMA EU ESG Ratings Regulation.
Reporting to the Head of Legal, you will be responsible for embedding and maintaining the governance arrangements expected of an authorised ESG rating provider, supporting Sylvera’s ongoing regulatory obligations, working closely with the global team to address regulatory issues, and ensuring compliance.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Advise senior management and the board on regulatory compliance matters and provide regular compliance reporting;
- Act as a primary point of contact with ESMA and manage regulatory correspondence, notifications, and information requests;
- Monitor developments in the ESG Ratings Regulation, associated Delegated Regulations, and ESMA guidelines, and assess their impact on Sylvera;
- Develop, maintain, and enforce compliance policies, procedures, and monitoring programs, including periodic assessments;
- Maintain appropriate records to demonstrate compliance to ESMA on request;
- Identify, manage, mitigate, and disclose actual and potential conflicts of interest and maintain a conflicts of interest register;
- Deliver training to relevant staff on regulatory obligations and policies and monitor compliance internally;
- Promote a culture of compliance across the Irish entity and the wider Sylvera group.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant compliance experience;
- Based in Ireland;
- Experience developing a regulatory framework within a startup or scale-up environment;
- Working knowledge of the ESMA regulatory framework applicable to ESG ratings, including governance, conflicts-of-interest, and internal-control requirements;
- Experience analyzing, assessing, and managing regulatory and compliance risks;
- Experience designing and implementing effective systems and controls for regulatory and governance;
- Experience engaging with a regulator;
- Strong drafting, verbal, analytical, and stakeholder-management skills;
- Ability to work autonomously while collaborating with a global team;
- Familiarity with the voluntary carbon market and/or ESG data and analytics is desirable.
