About the Role
We are hiring a Regional Oil & Gas Customer Engineer to lead technical pre-sales across our National Oil Company (NOC) engagements in the region. Working alongside our Value Advisor for energy, you will own the technical relationship with NOC customers, translating their operational challenges into Armada solutions across edge compute, sovereign AI, and disconnected/denied-environment use cases. This role covers the regional NOC portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Own technical pre-sales for regional NOC accounts: discovery, solution design, demos, proofs of concept, and technical proposals.
- Maintain accountability for the pre-sale design of integrated edge solutions, including an enclosure appropriate for physical site constraints, hardware requirements sized for workloads, network strategy for local data transfer and remote backhaul, and the application (first- or third-party) deployment approach.
- Translate upstream, midstream, and downstream operational use cases (e.g. real-time field analytics, edge AI at remote sites, data sovereignty) into Armada architectures.
- Lead and document proofs of concept, partnering with product, delivery, and partner engineering teams.
- Remain the customer’s technical point of contact through implementation, partnering with delivery on execution.
- Act as the trusted technical advisor to customer engineering and IT/OT stakeholders, building credibility at both working and decision-maker levels.
- Position Armada’s Galleon, Atlas, and Bridge platforms and the Microsoft Azure Local / NVIDIA / Qualcomm stack against alternatives, articulating differentiation on sovereignty, speed, and scale.
- Develop and maintain deep working knowledge of Armada’s partner ecosystem, their products, software, technology stacks, and how they integrate with Armada, and design joint solutions that combine Armada and partner technologies.
- Act as the technical interface to partners and system integrators on shared NOC engagements, aligning architectures and dividing technical scope.
- Support bid and RFP responses with technical content, architecture diagrams, solution selection (hardware and software) and effort estimates.
- Partner closely with Account Executives and the energy Value Advisor to advance pipeline and shorten technical sales cycles.
- Feed customer and field insights back to product management to shape the roadmap for energy use cases.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of pre-sales, solution architecture, or customer/sales engineering experience, including direct experience in the oil & gas sector. Oil & gas domain experience is a hard requirement for this role.
- Strong grasp of edge computing, data center infrastructure, cloud, and/or AI/ML solution architecture.
- Ability to lead technical conversations with both engineering teams and senior decision-makers.
- Experience scoping and running proofs of concept and writing technical proposals.
- Familiarity with the GCC / MEA energy landscape and NOC procurement and operating environments.
- Comfort working within a multi-partner ecosystem quickly learning partner and integrator products and stitching them into coherent end-to-end architectures.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English; willingness to travel across the region.
Preferred
- Hands-on exposure to OT/IIoT, remote and disconnected operations, or data sovereignty requirements.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure (incl. Azure Local) and/or NVIDIA AI and/or Qualcomm infrastructure.
- Arabic language skills.
What Success Looks Like
Within the first six months, you will have built credible technical relationships across the regional NOC portfolio, delivered at least one reference-grade proof of concept, and become the go-to technical authority for energy engagements alongside the Value Advisor. Performance will be measured against concrete targets, including [technical-win rate / pipeline supported / average technical-phase cycle time], agreed with your manager in your first 30 days.
