Job Description
About Ennoble Care: Ennoble Care is a mobile primary care, palliative care, and hospice service provider serving patients across multiple states, including New York, New Jersey, Maryland, DC, Virginia, Oklahoma, Kansas, Pennsylvania, Texas, Florida, and Georgia. Their clinicians provide in-home care for patients with chronic conditions and limited mobility, offering programs like remote patient monitoring, behavioral health management, and chronic care management.
Job Summary: The Regional Chief Medical Officer (RCMO) – Kidney Care Centers is a part-time nephrologist role responsible for overseeing the medical aspects of Ennoble Care’s primary care services across approximately 50 clinics. This role ensures high-quality, evidence-based care, owns clinical quality and total cost of care performance, and collaborates closely with regional operational leaders. The RCMO provides clinical oversight for an interdisciplinary team of Nurse Practitioners (NPs), Physician Assistants (PAs), care coordinators, and other team members delivering primary care at kidney care centers.
The RCMO will also partner closely with kidney care center partners to align on care protocols and address metrics not meeting goals. This is a part-time role (~2 days/week), designed for practicing nephrologists who do not carry a dedicated patient panel. The role is compatible with continued independent nephrology practice, joint venture participation, and medical director roles, subject to compliance review. This role is expected to expand toward full-time as the kidney care partnership grows.
Regional Scope: The RCMO will provide medical leadership and oversight across approximately 50 kidney care centers within their designated region, specifically in Oklahoma, Arkansas, Mississippi, and Florida. The RCMO must maintain appropriate medical licensure in these states.
Core Responsibilities:
- Clinical Quality and Performance Ownership:
- Own regional clinical, quality, and total cost of care metrics; monitor performance and drive improvement through targeted action plans.
- Conduct regular reviews of provider notes, structured chart audits, and documentation feedback; provide coaching to NPs and PAs based on findings.
- Lead complex case reviews and serve as a trusted clinical consultant for providers requiring clinical escalation.
- Lead performance improvement and quality initiatives, including regular reviews of partner quality and cost of care dashboards with regional operations and clinical leadership.
- Assist in developing clinical guidelines, protocols, and best practices for care delivered at kidney care centers.
- Clinic Visits and Nephrology Engagement:
- Conduct quarterly on-site clinic visits, including patient visits, on a rotating basis across the region.
- Meet with nephrologists practicing at the kidney care centers to align on shared patients, care plans, and quality priorities.
- Serve as Ennoble Care’s physician point of contact for partner nephrologists and clinical leadership.
- Fill in for providers as a last resort due to prolonged PTO or absences.
- Provider Performance:
- Participate in interviewing and selecting NPs and PAs for kidney care center roles.
- Provide clinical performance input on providers and support new or underperforming providers as needed.
- Develop and conduct initial and ongoing training for providers, especially related to dialysis and kidney care, in conjunction with dialysis center partners.
- Hold regular office hours and 1:1s with 10-15 providers.
- Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with Medicare/Medicaid requirements, Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, and other applicable healthcare regulations.
- Disclose and manage outside roles (including joint ventures and medical directorships) in accordance with company conflict-of-interest and compliance policies.
Qualifications:
Required:
- A Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
- Board Certification in Nephrology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (or equivalent).
- Active, unrestricted medical license in good standing in all states where the RCMO will conduct patient visits or clinical oversight (or ability to obtain within 90 days).
- Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) controlled substances registration.
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience as a practicing nephrologist.
- Minimum of 3 years of medical leadership or director-level experience.
- Experience caring for patients with chronic kidney disease and end-stage renal disease, including patients receiving in-center dialysis.
- Experience working within a business setting and demonstrated ability to work towards both business and clinical goals.
- Not excluded from participation in Medicare or other Federal Health Care Programs.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to kidney care centers within the region.
- Ability to disclose and manage outside professional roles in compliance with conflict-of-interest requirements.
Preferred:
- Experience with value-based care models and quality metrics.
- Experience as a dialysis facility medical director or participation in nephrology joint ventures.
- Experience with home-based or facility-based medical care.
- Prior experience in multi-site or multi-state healthcare leadership.
Job Conditions:

- Primarily remote, with quarterly travel to kidney care centers across the assigned region.
- Requires moderate physical activity including sitting, standing, stooping, walking, and travel by car.
- Face-to-face patient visits required during clinic visits, which may entail moderate physical exertion.
- Travel required by car or airplane to regional locations, seminars, conferences, and meetings.
- Hearing, eyesight, and physical dexterity must be sufficient to perform physical assessments of patient conditions and demonstrate patient care.
- Position may require occasional availability outside scheduled days for urgent clinical escalations.
